There is no higher power which tells you how you should live or why you live at all. The philosopher who is most known for these nihilistic ideas is Friedrisch Nietsche. He wrote a story about a person who claimed that we killed god. A metaphor for society abandoning their believe to a god figure.

I'm sad I scrolled somewhat far down and no one is referencing the Morty's Mind Blower segment "The Whole Enchilada". Rick sees that alien get dragged down to hell, or ported to alien hell from Earth, who knows, and Rick says "Well on the bright side, now I know religion is real, they have a hell and it does NOT look good!". Kind of a neat arc for Rick spanning the series so far.

Saturn was the first arcade perfect or very close too with VF2 and a few othres but i agree, Dreamcast was amazing and actually surpassed the arcades at the time.

A ‘Zeus’ is very different from an Abrahamic god since the Olympians weren’t an ‘origin’ style pantheon of gods. They inherited from their progenitors the Titans, they didn’t create the world or even the human race (the human race could have predated the Olympians because humans coexisted with the Titans prior), they merely took over the domains left behind. So being a ‘Zeus’ prolly means just that, cosmic asshole who possibly killed their parent and took over a domain. Powerful, but not really all-powerful.

Yeah I'm a little confused why this ep switches back and forth about treating Zeus like **a** god and The God with a capital G. Like referencing the plagues and moses and stuff which is biblical and has nothing to do with the greek gods.

3:00 I think "I am" is likely more of a reference to the Biblical God's name - "I am" (He literally tells Moses to tell the Pharaoh that "I am sent me"), implying that those are children of God... even though the God that shows up is actually a Greek one - Zeus.

The spaceship that rick and beth build to colonize space looks to be modeled after the spaceships in Wall-E

This episode was the best one of the season. Jerry had a purpose, so did morty, beth, summer and obviously rick. Seinf rick fight a god was great. All the storylines coming together was great. Ik we’ve had some game changing episodes like the vat of acid or the story train but this was just good ol fashioned rick and morty.

Damn I didn’t catch the parallel of jerry pinballing his way down the river!😂😂

I would like to make an correction, the title isn't a reference to children of men, in fact it is a reference to The Children of Dune which is much more correlated to the plot.

This show just keeps getting better

The children looks like groot and they even say i am lol

The SS salvation ship for the city rick and beth built looks somewhat similar to the axiom in Wall-E, especially with how it's docked there as well. Rick however has mentioned galaxy class cruise ships in prior episodes so it may be coincidental.

This may be my favorite episode this season. We will see if the finale can top it.

Reggie has the Greek letter Phi tattooed because in math Phi is the Divine Number and considering he's a Zeus, it fits. An interesting note is that it's the upper case Phi (the lower case usually represents the golden ratio) which is the reciprocal of the golden ratio (basically it's two numbers whose product is one), which could be a play on Reggie and Gaia joining as one to make these clay babies, effectively erasing any doubt that Reggie is the father and Rick is not.
