EDIT: MADE IT. DETAILS BELOW. I made the batter and poured it in before reading the description. Let's hope my rice cooker doesn't break. DETAILS: Turned out great. Ever so slightly burnt, can be easily trimmed off. Made in a 120V Salton rice cooker.( Instead of 240V) My cooker kept switching to WARM, like stated in the description. Got back to COOK only like 3 times, held it otherwise. Took about and hour or so, left it to ask Fiance questions (WARM). I used Dutch processed cocoa powder, barely sweet I think? Delicious. My picky nieces seemed to like it too. My mother in law loved it, and wants it again. If you don't have a full oven, or it already has a turkey or roast in it, but you need cake, try it.

I figured out a way to hold the “cook” button down as my cooker would not go past 03:23 and I wasn’t going to shut it down to cool for 30 mins. I simply used a jelly spoon and my kitchen towel. Let’s see how it goes! Wish I could upload pics!

Rice cooker=grown up version of Easy Bake Oven we had growing up:) I love my rice cooker.

Note: Rice cookers have a preset which automatically switches from cook to warm setting once it thinks the rice is done. Since we're cooking cake instead of rice, we need to trick it into thinking that it's still cooking rice when making this cake. Simply switch back to the cook setting whenever the switch flicks back to the warm setting until the cake is done. (My cooker flicked back around 6 times while making this cake). Try this cake if you have a good quality cooker and the proper voltage (240).

Wonderful cake recipe!

I did it with my reishunger rice cooker on baking mode for 30 min and the cake was delicious, not too sugary (I used unsweetened cocoa powder) and very soft and fluffy. All my coworkers loved it :)

I want to share my thoughts about the recipe. At first, I was kinda doubtful about why the recipe doesn't call for eggs. I have no background in baking at all but I just know that there's almost always egg in cakes and maybe a little bit of salt. But I followed this whole recipe anyway. Then, after mixing everything together, the batter wasn't as smooth as the one in the video. Mine was very sticky not runny at all. I thought it needed some more liquid so I wanted to add some more milk. But then again, I followed the whole recipe and didn't make any changes. I had to press the rice cooker about four times cause it kept going back to warm settings. I thought it was not cooking. Haha. In the end, the cake was grrrrreat! It tasted really nice. I just noticed that it was crumbly. And also, it looked exactly like the one in the video. Thanks for sharing this recipe. My husband liked it. He even told me to make it again! It was a super simple recipe because I already got all the ingredients in my pantry^^

great recipe! turned out great! i had to turn the switch 3 times but no problems :) after serving i added a chocolate garnache and it was AMAZINGG

Goes to warm not to burn your food when there is no more water or liquid on the base. It detects temperature. So put some liquid on the base of the rice cooker or water to make it stay on cook.

I know that problem, with a regular rice cooker this happens. Place a piece of paper in between cook and warm, when the cake is 90% ready then remove, this way it will stay on cooking mode without bouncing back. But it's not safe, please make sure before using this technique.
