Looked rather new and unused, even for Stainless steel; rather a lot of flames for my own taste, I prefer to cook over embers rather than flames, good to have an area without embers where the meat cannot be burned in the event of any flare-ups. It’s also worth having one end of the grill elevated more than the other, either by having the legs at one end either longer or propped up on eg a fire brick, so the heat can be controlled.

I think it would’ve been cooked perfectly if you would’ve thrown the steaks on after you had moved all the burning wood under the grill. Nonetheless it’s a good looking steak, it’s medium well but it looks tender, juicy, and evenly cooked 🔥

For a set up like that, i would have used WAY more hot coals and got that grate way hotter before throwing them on. When cooking a steak, its a delicate balancing act. You need enough heat to form the outter crust and cook it to doneness. If your heat is too light, youll never get the nice crust and it can cook unevenly, etc. A ribeye should be cooked hot and fast in most cases/set-ups. And use a therma-pro meat thermometer and dont let it heat past 125⁰F internal temp while on the cooking surface. Any temp beyond 125⁰F over cooks it and destroys the flavor, tenderness, moisture, etc.

Thanks for posting. A good method, however putting the meat on a cold grill and then heating it up is a fatal flaw. The meat takes ages to cook, squeezes out the juice and ends up being tough.

I was hoping he would cut it so we could see ... it looked perfect ... not overcooked ... It's not too red ( perfect color ... I don't like really red meat ) ; it was so easy to cut ... very tender [ soft ]. I'm sure it melted when he started to eat it. His technique was different from others I've seen. Great job ‼️

looks amazing, but you should create a minimized firing chamber when grilling 1 or two steaks in order to get more heat, and use less fuel, not only for environment, but also time and efficiency. ALMOST all grills are way too large for their purpose. Enjoy the beautiful steak!
