Traditional tank style water heater replacement.
The old water heater lasted 14 years before it developed an internal leak, likely a cracked tank. Also the electric cable was a 10/2 with NO ground wire. New 10/2 with ground was installed to the appropriate 30 amp double breaker (240v). By having the electrical system grounded, electrical shock risk is greatly reduced. Without ground wires, a human body could become the ground which is not good. Ground wires will take any loose current back to the panel and should trip the breaker.
The cold water shutoff valve had corroded to the extent that only a pipe wrench would turn it - so that was replaced also. Often with plumbing and replacing appliances, there is a host of other peripheral repairs which need to be made also.
