One of my favorites from the late 90s/early 2000 - great track from a awesome symphonic powermetal album. This takes me back to the golden era of powermetal!

One of the greatest power metal bands ever for sure, so epic. Listen to Emerald Sword if you haven't yet. I wish Fabio would join Twilight Force now that Chrileon has left.

Luca Turilli's solo albums are my favorite. Black Dragon, War of the Universe, Ancient Forest of Elves.. so many awesome songs. Fabio and Olaf Hayer are so under appreciated

I'm just gonna say that I wish I had had this sort of a relationship with my grandfather. Mixed race aside, y'all should be grateful to be able to bond like this.

Do more Rhapsody please! They are my favourite band. Fabio has an awesome operatic quality which he sometimes shows. And he always hits the notes. Just phenomenal.

It was this band and this song that pulled me into the world of metal ^^

That is one of the better know ones....but that is why we wanted to check other bands we were less or not familiar with.

One of my favorites, great epic song

Rhapsody The Magic of the Wizaed's Dream has sir Christipher Lee on guest vocals and is from when Rhapsody was just one band

Pretty sure Fabio still sings for Rhapsody of Fire along with Angra. If you want to check out other Italian bands in the future I suggest Elvenking or Raintime, although Raintime split up a few years ago.

skeletank mcgraw He ended up a farewell tour with Rhapsody last March. So...he's not in Rhapsody anymore. Actually there's only one member left from the original lineup

Guys, did you listen to their "Reign of terror"? It is so powerful and different mix of everything!

This makes my travel back in time when I started hearing them in 03. Dawn of Victory is my favorite Rhapsody album.

Do Disarmonia Mundi, it features the singer of Soilwork on most songs and they(though it's almost a 1 man band) have some great stuff. Try Quicksand Symmetry, Nihilistic Overdrive, or Cypher Drone, to name a few.

I would say you need to have a listen to "Gargoyles, angels of darkness" but it's looooong. It is their best song though.

I'm glad you like the good old Rhapsody, Symphony of the Enchaned Lands and Dawn of Victory are incredible albums!! Since you mentioned Lione's Angra, I recommend you Mato's Angra (first singer) Nothing to Say and Edu's Angra (second singer) Spread Your Fire ;)

Long time lurker here, finally got around to subscribe (Too long password so it is a pain in the *beep* to sign in to youtube and I am too lazy to change it). I have followed this channel around from first wintersunday and it is now my afternoon coffee relaxation moment to brew some fresh coffee and watch the latest videos. Awesome channel and many thanks for all the new bands I now listen to thanks to you guys and the addition of album reviews and interviews is worth double thumbs up, I really like them. Also I'm probably too lazy to sign in to youtube in a while after this so I would like to request something while I am at it - Liquid Tension Experiment - Paradigm Shift or from the same band the song Acid rain and don't do the live versions, they are bad. It is a progressive instrumental metal band so it's something new for you to react to or at least I think haven't seen any instrumental only metal here. Keep it up!!! \,,/

Another great band from Italy is ''5 Star Grave''. They play a really interesting mixture of metal, rock'n'roll and punk with Death Metal-vocals and awesome keyboard-lines.

This was my first speed power epic metal song i listened to it 😊😊

Rhapsody of fire used to be just rhapsody and they did this amazing mix of opera, medieval music, classical music and power metal....eventually they split up. The lead singer stayed with the old band and they renamed to Rhapsody of fire (which you saw here and they're quite a downgrade from the old rhapsody) and the guitarist and mastermind Luca turilli formed his own rhapsody called "Luca Turilli's Rhapsody" and they went into this pretty unique "cinematic metal" route which also isn't quite like old rhapsody either, but they do really up the epicness factor and the singer of this band is a huge upgrade to lione. They basically make huge and epic film scores but metal. It's quite fun to be honest, especially the lyrics, which are random as hell :D

Not completely true. Rhapsody renamed to Rhapsody of Fire way before the split for legal reasons, in 2006. The split happened in 2011 after the last album of the Saga (From Chaos to Eternity). By the way Turilli is pretty anarchic, he starts and closes projects every 5 minutes :D There should have been a sequel to Prophet of the Last Eclipse which is still missing. Then he opened the Luca Turilli's Dreamquest project which lasted just 1 album. Then he was already thinking about splitting from RoF before the last album of the saga, which was then blatantly rushed (even though I like it). Then he started with LT's Rhapsody and this new sci-fi-spiritual-cinematic concept which was supposed to be developed as a trilogy, but after the second album he starts this Rhapsody Reunion 2 years-long Tour for the 20th anniversary of the band and in interviews he talks about future projects and current proposals while LT's Rhapsody are in stand-by. Also Fantasia Gotica...it's been like 6 years since that song was supposed to be released.

On the contrary actually, I never listened to rhapsody until about 2 years ago. I walked into a choice between 3 bands already. I'll say that maybe it's a music nerd thing but Turilli's stuff had so much more detail, intricacies and clever composition that I definitely can't say Rhapsody is as good without his genius. Don't get me wrong, Rhapsody of fire is still an amazing band but original Rhapsody just has....more to offer if compared to RoF

blazejecar Of course. I love all of Turilli's works actually. He's definitely the one with the greatest ability to compose catchy melodies. Staropoli still hasn't completely impressed me by that point of view, even if Into the Legend is a great album.. By the way we still can't judge the most recent Rhapsody of Fire with Voli. They're producing a new album with a new Saga. I'm confident that with a composition specifically made for him and with him, Voli could deliver a huge performance. One thing is for sure...he's got a much better pronunciation than Lione and Conti.

More Rhapsody reactions :D at the beginning the name was only called rhapsody but they renamed to rhapsody of fire at some point and in 2010/2011, not sure, they split up. Luca turilli the master behind their music left together with the 2nd guitarist and bassist to follow his own projects, which rhapsody of fire was also one he started in 1993, and in 2016 fabio and alex left the band aswell with only the keyboards remaining and forming a new formation with rhapsody of fire. in 2017 the original band made a 20annyversery rhapsody farewall tour but without the keyboards. i saw the renunion live and it was the most epic concert i ever attendet

hmm ok. Here it is just that alcohol isnt allowed to be sold on people below 18. But beside on that it is the same like a supermarket. You cant buy alcohol below 18, but you can still visit the market or in this case the concert.

Used to listen to Rhapsody a lot but got a bit bored after a while but still listen to them once in a while. By the way the name of the live dvd of this performance is "Live in Canada 2005 - Dark Secrets". heard this band for the first time when I was 15 or so. Love a lot of their stoff including this song, but they have a lot of mediocre stuff too. Glad you're checking some new bands out though. Keep up the great work! :)

Used to be and amazing band simply named Rhapsody, but then it split in two: "Rhapsody of Fire" and "Luca Turilli's Rhapsody". Neither of the 2 are as good as old Rhapsody used to be. Even Fabio left this band because he felt that "nobody wants to make the kind of music we used to anymore"

The Luca era they were just Rhapsody... Rhapsody of Fire happened when the Keyboard player split and wante the Rhapsody name, so they had to add of Fire to keep it... Luca Turillis Rhapsody continued on for a few more albums, but to be honest, not to sure of his current activity... been falling behind in my Italo-metal...lol

the name change happened way earlier in 2006 ;) Triumph or Agony, The Frozen Tears of Angels, The Cold Embrace of Fear and From Chaos to Eternity were all still with Luca :) The name change happened back than because somebody else had the right for the name Rhapsody, and when the band become that big he wanted the name back. The split into Luca turilli's Rhapsody and Rhapsody of Fire with the key player Staropoli and Fabio Lione happened in 2011 because Luca wanted to play more neo classical type of metal and Staropoli more cinemastic symphonic metal. At least that is what I know of it
