Rhads and company avoid Canadian winter!

Bringing my Ornate Rainbowfish (Rhadnocentrus ornatus), Honey Blue Eyes (Pseudomugil mellis), Medaka (Oryzias latipes) and Orange Cherry Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) back inside from the deck pond. The deck pond was a smashing success for breeding shrimp! Not so much for acquiring fish fry though. I will try a little different set up next summer to see if I can passively acquire some fry from outside. In the meantime, I will attempt to convince the Rhads and Honey Blue Eyes to breed indoors!

Thanks, it was very easy to setup too. Mostly just keep an eye out for the type of slate you want and accumulate it, the rest is very easy to gather.

I've found that many fish "summering" outside come back in with AMAZING COLOR. Definitely yours did.

Yes, natural sunlight and variety of live foods really seems to make a difference. The Rhads were likely super pretty the whole time, I put them into the pond at about midnight after a long dive home and never really did get a good look at them outside, lol.

Amazing. Love seeing the before and after with the deck pond. It was really nice to see the rhads in their new tank today, I hope they breed lots for you. They are stunning for sure. Sunburst is a great description.
