There's a few things you're doing wrong here. 1. You're using the wrong plate. For small sweet corn seeds you need a small flat or extra small flat corn plate. 2. The top of the flat plate the hitch bolts to needs to be 13" off the dirt, and the tops of the hoppers running level. 3. Make sure the whole planter is properly lubricated. These things like grease. 4. Tighten the cap on the plate, then back it off until you can make a full revolution without the plate dragging. You'll know you've got #3 and 4 right when you can take the wheel with your hand and spin it freely. 5. Run graphite seed flow lubricant in your seeds. 6. Make sure the wingnut on your sheetmetal partition is dead tight. When you have one of these planters set up correctly they run like a Singer sewing machine.

I’ve run them cole planners for a long time. The problem y’all are having is where there is too much paint in the between the plate in the hopper, not allowing the plate to be tight enough so that the seed is falling down into it.

The problem with a three point hitch is that it maintains angle between the tractor and the planter (implement). So you guys adjusted that top arm, but as soon as the terrain changes, that upper arm needs to be adjusted again. For instance, if the front wheel of the tractor runs over a clod or a rock, it lifts the front of the tractor. The result is that the press wheel gets pushed into the ground. If the front of the tractor makes a dip, it would elevate the press wheel ..... and you lose your drive system because that wheel isn't in contact with the ground. All of this is a disadvantage for 3 point systems. Ideally, you use 3 point implements that don't touch the ground, like a sprayer.

1st thing is to get and ideal of wat ur working with. Small tractor the first thing move the link bad down so you can adjust the planter and don’t drag it around corners having it setup before you start helps understanding how it works helps to but I guarantee you well love dat planter and someone else will too they last a lifetime happy farming

Should've bought a farmall av. Can't wait for the cultivating video. Unless that corn grows like pickles. That tractor is nice but it just isn't a farm tractor. Stick with a classic, you'll never lose your money. Good luck

I had to make a shorter top link to lift the planter higher on my Kubota 2350 only way for it to work correctly. If you don't it will drag the back wheel. Had it shortened at Jira Welding on 641. Only way it would work correctly on my compact tractor. Planter works great on my compact tractor. I also use a gauge wheel on both of my mx12 planters.

Thanks for the video!! I was having similar issues. Unfortunately like you said I ended up planting and entire field with sunflowers only to find out when I opened the canisters no seeds dropped. I believe my back wheel was not spinning now that I’ve watched your video.

Mx 12 is a good planter just need to understand how to adjust and use correct seed plates and the correct distance gear. Adjust the fertilizer flow all the information is in the books or on line

I agree, they're way overpriced, but that wasn't the problem. Simple advice, maybe they should've tested an unfamiliar planter a little earlier in the season to see germination success and spacing
