Okay so I wasn't 100% accurate on the Photoshop Pricing... so here it is. Short and sweet... If you want a monthly rolling subscription of Photoshop its £32.98 per month: commerce.adobe.com/store/commitment?items%5B0%5D%5Bid%5D=F3203E90B236277DE9C7ADB4C9598E4C&cli=adobe_com&co=GB&ctx=fp&lang=en If you're happy to sign up for the whole year its £21.98 per month but, if you cancel before the year is up, you'll have to pay an early cancellation fee which will just be the remaining months cost etc so you're paying £263 per year. commerce.adobe.com/store/commitment?items%5B0%5D%5Bid%5D=F3203E90B236277DE9C7ADB4C9598E4C&cli=adobe_com&co=GB&ctx=fp&lang=en OR You can get PS within the Photography plan: www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/photography/compare-plans.html?promoid=P3KMQYMW&mv=other For either £9.98/month (20Gb) or £19.97/month (1Tb) depending on how much storage you want. This again is a yearly plan! and there's no option for a rolling monthly plan. So you're paying £120/£240 for the year, even if you only want it for a month basically. None of which is shown at all on the Photoshop site btw: www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop.html As far as I can tell there is no monthly rolling Photography plan. Oh and what I didn't know until literally just now trying to figure this whole thing out... You also only get a certain amount of Generative Credits each month! So using the features within Photoshop costs you credits. Here's a breakdown of all that: helpx.adobe.com/firefly/using/generative-credits-faq.html#commercial-use Photography plan gets you 150 credits a month. Photoshop specific plan gets you 500 per month. So while what I said wasn't full correct in the video. The video would have been 2 hours long if i'd tried to explain the pricing system fully ha!

I've had the Photoshop/Lightroom bundle at $9.98/month for years. I use Photoshop a lot so it is very worth that price to me. Adobe hides that option - you have to search for it. They want you to buy the 1 T of cloud storage from them. I store everything in an external harddrive so I'm happy with the lower priced option.

A great use of the transcription is that it's a way you can do rough cuts without being able to hear any audio. I can just grab the parts of the video that I want based on the words I've highlighted in the transcription. I know what I'm getting and I don't need to be able to listen to it directly. I know it's not perfect, but imagine being able to do a rough cut of a video (or even a full video) even if you were deaf? That's kind of awesome.

I really love Resolve's auto subtitles. For my vlog, it's excellent and requires little tweaking. But, I work for a tech non-profit, and the videos from our conference this year cause the engine to stumble quite a bit more. I've had to do a lot of tweaking for those. So it seems the quality varies depending on the lingo. That said, we had a number of different accents speaking English, some quite heavy (one was a fairly thick Irish), and it did no worse with those, really. It's still a time saver, either way.

Back in the day, around 1995, a photoshop license was 890-ish usd, in todays money it would be almost twice as much, almost 1800 usd for owning photoshop, and then they would release a new x.0 version one or two years later with loads of new features that you would have to buy *again* but at a reduced price, around 300 usd-ish in todays money … and that was just for photoshop - the sub-model they use today, with continous updates vs having to wait a year or two for new features is *so* much better for working professionals :)

Hi Alex. Love your videos. In your Resolve Creators Podcast, you mentioned that the Neural Engine in Resolve had problems, ironically, with the way you pronounce Neural, that it transcribed it as “Normal”. I noticed that in the subtitles for this video, as well as the YT transcript, this was the case. I think it’s because you pronounce it as “n-OO-al”. I would pronounce it as “new-ral”. Try it, and see how Resolve handles that. 😊

Just for info: I have only used Resolve's autogenerated subtitles for a (one) German interview. While it 10x better than KZread captions, I still needed to edit a fair amount. To be clear, it is very useful, better by a long shot than anything else I have found, and it saves a lot of time. But it does not seem to be as good for German as you and other people have said that it is for English.... I will also be using it very soon on a French interview. Just to be clear with viewers, the interviews are on technical subjects. That adds to the difficutlties, but that doesn't cover all of the issues. The ability to remove silent parts (and extra chatter during filming, too) and then dump the rest on the timeline, is very cool.

I as trying to edit photos from a 50 megapixels camera, I shudder to thing what might happen if I try its high resolution( 196) megapixels mode. You asked ChatGPT the wrong question. Ask, "In detail, how does ChatGPT work?" and you will get a very different response. I asked for instructions on how to copy installed Windows to a smaller (or larger), I'm not sure now which. The process was fine, but its choice of tools was not. It seemed to think WIndows uses EXT4, not NTFS. That kind of error is a natural consequence of the way ChatGPT works It knows nothing, it's just using predictive text.

My expectation is for it to not give me a 100% correct answer, but if it gets me 70% of the way there in literally seconds, then I can do the other 30% and overall, will still have saved myself a fair bit of time.
