Revamped and Roaring: A 2023 Honda Hornet Review
The Honda Hornet is a popular motorcycle model that has gained a strong following since its introduction in the early 2000s. Known for its aggressive styling, nimble handling, and versatile performance, the Hornet has become a favorite among riders looking for a capable and practical street bike.
In 2023, Honda has released an updated version of the Hornet, incorporating several enhancements and improvements to make it even more appealing to riders. Here are some key features and aspects of the 2023 Honda Hornet:
Design:
The 2023 Honda Hornet showcases a modern and sporty design language that exudes a sense of power and athleticism. With sharp lines, a sculpted fuel tank, and aggressive bodywork, the Hornet commands attention on the road. The motorcycle features a comfortable riding position, with an upright stance and slightly forward-leaning ergonomics, striking a balance between sportiness and everyday usability.
Engine and Performance:
Powering the 2023 Hornet is a responsive and efficient engine. This engine configuration delivers a smooth power delivery, with ample low-end torque and a thrilling top-end performance.
Chassis and Handling:
The Hornet's chassis is designed to offer exceptional handling and maneuverability. It typically employs a sturdy frame that strikes a balance between rigidity and flexibility, allowing for precise cornering and stability at high speeds. The suspension setup is likely to feature adjustable forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, providing a comfortable and controlled ride over various road surfaces.
Technology and Features:
Honda has been equipping its motorcycles with advanced technology, and the 2023 Hornet is expected to follow suit. Riders can anticipate features such as LED lighting, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a range of rider aids, including selectable riding modes, traction control, and possibly even cornering ABS (anti-lock braking system) for enhanced safety.
Additional features and amenities may vary depending on the specific model and trim level offered in different markets. Honda often provides options for customization, allowing riders to add accessories such as luggage systems, windshields, and upgraded exhaust systems to tailor the Hornet to their preferences.
Overall, the 2023 Honda Hornet continues the model's legacy as a versatile and exciting street motorcycle. It combines aggressive styling, strong performance, and a host of modern features to offer riders a thrilling and enjoyable riding experience. Whether it's commuting through city streets or exploring winding roads, the Hornet is designed to deliver fun and practicality in equal measure.

(MCN will be after your services) Like your good self I’m an owner of a NC 750x dct & looking to change so I’m wondering if it’s possible review the Hornets sister bike the Transalp. This bike to me is very tempting to a six footer like me & a natural step from the NC. I luv the dct & would only move to a manual bike with quickshifter/blipper. Hope you can make it happen Bud.

Wow! You hired a camera crew! 😉 Best review I've seen to be honest. I confess I'm not a fan of the 'front end' but watching your video it doesn't look so bad with the lights on 'on the road'. The grey / silver is the best colour to my eyes although, why they would put red bar ends in the 'pack' is beyond me. I think I'd just add the quickshifter. I'd probably want to add a Puig screen later (for the kind of riding I do) as at first glance that looks the best one. I need to try one for size. The size of the tank is a PITA to be honest, although you'll probably need to stop often because of the PITA 🤣 You never mentioned the short front mudguard or the lack of a rear hugger, maybe if it had been raining instead of glorious sunshine it may have been more 'apparent'. 🙂 What do you make of the 'on/off' throttle at low rpm some have mentioned? (Apparently not as intrusive on the Transalp?)

  • @exeterrider

    @exeterrider

Hi, Yes I did mention it but somehow I must have cut it out the main cut (happens a lot) each walkround is an hour long so a lot is cut out. Yes I mentioned the on/off throttle in the traffic riding segment...Its definately on/off but its not a deal breaker and almost becomes normal after riding it a few times. I would really like to try the Alp : )

You've certainly put some work into this review. Looks an ideal sized bike for you, probably less so for a huge guy like me. Narrowed down seats are literally a pain in the backside on longer rides but I see why Honda do it, especially if they want to attract newer riders who want to easily get their feet down. Looked weird seeing the front indicators sort of flashing but I guess that's the camera frame rate Personally I prefer the looks of this compared to the new Suzuki GSX-S8 but being older I'm more attracted to retro styled machines

Like and subscribe from me.... I just picked up my new Hornet with SC Can today from Bridge Motorcycles Exeter where I had an excellent sales experience. It was fun just buying it. The SC Can will set you back another £900 but it's well worth having if you can stretch to it. I traded my CB650R for it. Take it from me the Hornet Rocks!!! I think the price point will rise soon mind you. If you're looking for a middle weight try the Hornet.

You will always get People going on about the past your Right if it was a Four Cylinder it would be more Expensive & Heavy ( CB650R) Lots of Manufacturers Use Old Model Names why do people get so Hung up about it ? I have a 2020 CB 500F (That was a Four in the 70s) The New Hornet is Fantastic Value & Honda's Order Book is Full I was Told September is. The Earliest I could get one ..

Good review, great bike but think I'd spend the extra £1000 for the Suzuki GSX800S. Looks nicer, more roomy and more for your money. Spoilt for choice.

🌟Sadly the looks let it down badly. Looks like an insect 😐

Obviously looks are subjective but yeah, this does nothing for me in that department. It's not ugly, it's just very bland looking, not helped by the oh so generic and dull grey/black colour scheme.

@applecorp Fair comment mate. I have always liked the looks of the 500F and now the Hornet myself.

Bland, generic naked bike. Much prefer the new Suzuki.
