Retired Green Beret Mike Albert: Special Ops Soldier to Police Officer to Anti-Human Trafficking

Ойын-сауық

Mike Albert is a retired Green Beret that served with the 20th Special Forces Group (same group as Tim Kennedy). He served during the Vietnam War, Desert Storm and countless operations behind enemy lines during the Cold War. He also served as a Police Officer in York City and in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. After retiring from policing and the military, due to a broken back from a parachuting accident with the 20th, Mike moved to the Philippines to work as the Director of Police Training for the International Justice Mission, where he trained Law Enforcement to recognize, investigate and prosecute human traffickers. Mike later served as the Mayor of Wrightsville Borough.
Mike dedicated his life to serving his country and his community. This is his story.

That is an excellent example of taking full advantage of the life given to you. "To free the oppressed!"

Great video and what a great American. We traveled the same roads and spent many days and nights in the same pine tree and sandy terrain at the same time on Fort Bragg. We may have passed each other. I was there on Pope AFB, January 1978 until August of 1981. Pope AFB is now Pope air field but still has Air Force there. We put the Air in Airborne. HUA. I was assigned to the 317th Civil Engineering Squadron. Prime Beef. I also trained with Red Horse. I too went through that line with Susan being on the other side once. We said goodbye and I boarded a C130 hercules. We were heading to Uganda , Africa. We made it to Dover but got delayed and called back. Idi Amin was ousted as a terrible dictator before we left. 1979. We use to set up our own perimeter in a mock base we would set up on Bragg somewhere and trained to secure it. Fox holes, trip flares, mock claymores, etc. We had a team called aggressors that would try try infiltrate every night. They were mostly older Vietnam veterans. I paid attention intently because I figured if I was ever deployed to support the 82nd I better be on top of my game. My last year there I was accepted to the aggressor team. I learned an awful lot. I never got captured and was never "shot " or " blown up ". I actually made it into camp undetected. I had no idea I would be doing this when I joined. I was going to be an electrician. Come to find out we need electric in the field too. 😂 I will never compare myself to anyone who actually saw real combat. In my world it was all blanks and simulators. I can appreciate it but never experienced it. God Bless all those who have.

WOW!!! That was an incredible episode!! I don't even know what to say about all he's done... Mr. Albert I salute you and thank you for a tremendous amount of service to this great nation!! I had the privilege of previewing the first take on this production and was extremely impressed and humbled by the amount of accomplishments this man has achieved in his life of service! Being raised by a family full of military veterans I've taken quite an interest in long form podcasting where these Hero veterans share their experiences. Jocko, Shawn Ryan, Mike Ritland etcetera and this production is amongst the most interesting and impressive that I've seen. Barry, you did an outstanding job producing this interview and Mike, again, I thank you for your service and for allowing your story to be published to inspire many other people going forward!! A wonderful episode!!
