Rethinking Storytelling To Help People Care | Mariana Atencio | TEDxUniversityofNevada
NBC News journalist Mariana Atencio covered three hurricanes, one earthquake and the worst mass shooting at a church in America in less than three months. She traveled to Mexico, Puerto Rico and Texas raising her voice for thousands of victims. But it was the crisis in her country, Venezuela, that really hit home. In her TEDx talk, Mariana tells you how to use the power of your own voice to make people care. Get ready to learn what YOU are willing to fight for! All you have to do is care enough to come forward. Mariana is a Peabody-Award winning journalist and news personality working for MSNBC and NBC News, where she covers domestic and international issues doing breaking news and special reports. The Huffington Post called her “our Latina Christiane Amanpour” and one of the top Latinas in American Newsrooms, making the rare “crossover from Spanish to English television.” In 2017, she gave a TEDx Talk about the search for humanity, tolerance and inclusiveness in our world that has been seen by more than 4 million people. Mariana is very passionate about inspiring the next generation of storytellers. Bravo Mariana! Once again you did it incredible!
This is very sorrowful and full of grief when you talk about yourself like how you start your journey for the first time and how many types of people come across in your journey but you keep on your work without any break its not so simple as other think because when you go through hot water it's make you so weak but if you dont loose hope this tragedy will become a weapon for you .
The clarity in thoughts, Boldness in talk and a strong vision in work just made me a huge fan of yours. I am a research student from India and I saw a great leader in you who has the guts to evolve this planet in different ways...
wow!! I'm so proud of you, keep doing what you do, here you have another Venezuelan who supports you.
Fantastic Mariana!, a perfect bond of mind and heart.
I think this is my favourite TED Talk I have ever seen. What a hard-working, compassionate, strong, and beautiful woman. I can't imagine how heartbreaking this line of work is and the level of endurance it requires. And still, there is more work to be done. There is always more work to be done. On God, it's people like Mariana Atencio that will keep this planet spinning on its axis. Love and respect from Korea and Canada.

Ma'am, I sense from your exposures to crises that you could be experiencing a level of PTSD beneath your awareness. I suggest that you please take measures of your personal bearing with these exposures in mind. Thank you.

Watching the news does not help people. Caring and being concerned does no good. Watching the news makes people miserable and unhappy. Not watching the news means being uniformed but watching it means being misinformed.
