Oh how my heart ached and broke for that precious young girl. I wanted to jump inside the movie and grab her and adopt her before she got abused. Made me cry even harder over the scene at her birthday just after her Mom died. Two big devastations back to back. Also, JH's performance was through and through lovable/skilled/talented. What an honor for her.

Nominations and recognition for your performance have been coming in too for your leading actress role - The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, Image Awards, Viewer's Choice Awards, and that does not even include the songs that have received Golden Globe and Grammy nomination recognition too! Wish you good luck Jen. You got it!

Aretha Franklin deserved respect, however she spent more time I think pretending and covering up,things that were quite obviously the business of anybody, but things about the way she was raised. I think Rev. Franklin allowed Ms. Franklin to be around things and see things,a young girl should have never been subjected to. I think that her upbringing was shadowed in darkness, that she always tried to make it seemed perfect. She did peculiar things, like calling the tabloids to make up stories,if a certain amount of time went by,without her being in the news. Her life was very different, but she spent all her time making up stories about its greatness, granted she had greatness, but had to cover up lots of tumultuous things. All her work with Civil Rights and the prestigious name she made for her self. She always veered away from questions regarding her father, because I think a lot of painful things she experienced she did so at the hand of her father. That circuit she was running around in at such a young age, should have never been. She was in rooms with scantly sultry women, and for that reason, her innocence and childhood was stolen from her. I hope that in her next world she’s able to free herself from those painful years, and memories. It’s sad that because of her dealings with Rev. King, the FBI had open files on her. I hope she’s found happiness,in the places that surrounded her in grief and misery. God. Bless, you Ms.Franklin…prayers offered for the repose of your soul.
