Rescuing a Vintage Dive Watch that had a Rough Life !!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Somebody sent me this Vintage Airin watch for a restoration. This dive watch is not in good shape outside and inside. It is equipped with a FE 140 caliber. Lets see if this vintage watch can run and look better after a restoration.

I enjoyed the video very much. While I appreciate the fact that you would give some love to a watch brand that isn’t popular (as I do too), I am requesting that you not choose an unknown brand for future videos again, because that raises the prices on eBay for me when I want to purchase them! 😀 I love sleeper brands that are well-made, like this Airin.

When that jewel jumped I nearly propped my phone. Wow this is more stressful then watching a thriller. It may be a generic mouvement but saying it isn't beautiful is not fair, this is one that has the beauty inside, dit you see the revel of the heart?

Watch collector, i have the same movement, i think i fix it. Butt now the minut hand wil not rotate on the left side off the watch. The watch works great except the minut hand. Do you think there is oil on the canon pinion? also turn the hands very light. I hope you can help me.

Well done. I love vintage watches like this. As a collector and hobbyist watchmaker with preference for vintage military and dive watches, not everything has to be a Submariner to enjoy. Love this watch. Thanks for the great content.

From what I have read, Airin watches were made by Dodane in Besançon, a company which is still selling watches. I believe some older Timex watches had a somewhat similar calendar drive.

Jumping Cap Stone You say? What if the dial side and the balance side cap stones were originally mixed by a shoddy repair effort in the past not so long ago? That would also explain the very poor amplitude while the movement and the mainspring still were relatively clean.
