Same with cats. My golden girl Maisey (tabby) rolled over and bared her belly in my arms. She now cuddles me when I am asleep and lays on my chest when opportunity arises. Sometimes she lays right on my face.

Pretty sure any dog will choose whoever feeds it. Very simple very predictable. Also anyone that refers to them selves as Mom or Dad to a dog has mental issues.

That's exactly how my girl Miriam was when I took her in. There were 3 other dogs in my pack. But, she just wouldn't come near me. It took me a good 2 months to get her to eat from my hand or to sit with the rest of the pack near me in the living room. But the day she did, that was it. That was 9 years ago and she's velcro now! For a good 2 years after joining us, she had nightmares. Then, they went away. Love, peace and a lot of patience really does heal everything.

She is part golden lab. I have a golden lab and he is the sweetest thing ever. When I look into his eyes I think of all the dogs that are abused and I wonder “how can anyone mistreat them”. They are full of love and loyalty. Thank you for giving love to this puppy.

Don't worry about what happens when she gets older. There is a season for everything...and this is your season for joy. I miss my pets who are no longer with me, but I have so much pride and gratitude for having them for as long as I did.

I had the same connection with my calleigh cat. When she passed it almost killed me, but I found love again in rescuing 2 more cats.

That last statement Hit me hard thinking of my Australian Shepherd I rescued @2 he's now nine, I was in a dark place back then he actually rescued me. God I love him so much!!

Love and compassion have such wonderful healing qualities ❤

So very happy she has a wonderful home with you ! To everyone reading this comment, Be a kind human, if you are against violence to animals you must be vegan, don't love some and kill and eat others, live a violent free life !

This is one of the most moving rescue videos I’ve ever seen and in particular because of the wife’s narrative she’s the loving one. She allows this sweet injured dog to bond with her husband, and she just observes it all with with more love really exceptional.

What a difficult beginning for this puppy but she now has a loving forever, SECURE home with people (and other pets) who love her and will never let anything bad happen to her again. When I see dogs so shut down, it breaks my heart that they were so abused, they don't trust anyone.

An elderly chihuahua came up to my son on Christmas Day 2019. It was obvious she had been on here own for some time. They bonded immediately and there were many tears shed when she passed away two years later. I can assure you those were the best two years of her life and he became a much more compassionate individual. Animals are wonderful.

It’s a beautiful thing to see a man melt when he finds his dog. I know how he was. Daddy didn’t ever have his own dog. He grew up on a farm. They had farm dogs. I got a poodle as a gift at 9 years old. He melted when she would snuggle up with him. I love this video. Thank you for taking her home and making her feel safe again.
