The fun part is that due to "Bethesda compression" Republic of Dave indeed os one of the major settlements in the region and we can't judge it's full size by what is represented in the game ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Being realistic, I think the Republic would be about 100 citizens and 10 slaves. The border fence would be much larger and taller, and rather than farmland, they would use the empty land around them as pastures for Brahmin.

I think part of the joke is that they’re in over their heads. So even if the game was fully scaled to real life, it’d be the same.

But at the same time Canterbury Commons, Little Town and Little Camplight, if I can recall their names right, are also called major settlements ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ I don't see how Republic of Dave can be worse off then Tenpenny Tower. Yes, "Republic" has far worse defenses, position and population numbers, but unlike Tenpenny Tower, they at least have an explanation of where they get the food from. How did Tenpenny not starve?

If the player character enters the Republic without receiving permission from Bob or one of the children, the residents will turn hostile. The Lone Wanderer can get in by stealing the keys from the child guarding the gate. The Lone Wanderer can also get in by using the Child at Heart perk and speaking to Flower when it is her turn to guard the gate. Also, Derek Pacion at Canterbury Commons can be pickpocketed for the front gate key to the Republic of Dave.

Certainly the best chance for humanity, Mr House is nothing towards the genius of Dave

Today I learned that my yard is a little bigger than the Republic of Dave. The world will never be the same for me.

Dave also weilds a fearsome weapon, an ancient rifle with unerring accuracy and surprising power. To somehow aquire this weapon, this "ole' painless" would grant any wanderer a sturdy, deadly tool.

Finally, you are guys are now talking about the REAL players in the wasteland.

Just you wait! One day the Garys are gonna emerge from vault 108 and then no one will be safe!

I took it to mean they have something better lined up for April 1st, since this is _exactly_ the sort of thing they run for April Fools.

For as quirky and small as the Republic of Dave is, I feel y'all down in the comments are forgetting a crucial detail of Fallout, because what other powerful nation-state arose from a quirky backwater hamlet with basically nothing to its name? Why, the *New California Republic* from out of Shady Sands of course!

I was thinking that this was way too early for a April fools video. All hail Dave! All hail the Republic of Dave! May they shine for many years.

I still want to see a Halo video designated to building the best battlegroup for a fleet for either the UNSC or the Covenant. I mean what I usually do is build the fleet around a carrier escorted by a few cruisers, frigates, and destroyers then have support ships usually in the back but only one jump away. Then of course for fighters it would be basically between the assault fighters, the bomber fighters, and the support fighters (basically fighters meant to intercept enemy fighters and chase them off) The you can use that to make a fleet because I'm pretty sure a fleet is several battlegroups put together.
