@Danny Tallmage I disagree. If Spurs can get Conte, then Arsenal could have still gotten a better manager. It's just that a lot of these managers just aren't suited for Arsenal. The club doesn't want to have to replace the manager every 3 years. A lot of these bigger managers are journeymen. They want someone young and hungry (and good, fingers crossed) that can grow with the young players and put in a Wenger type tenure. In terms of years that is.

He left Ozil out of the 25 man squad when Arsenal didn't even have another number 10, paid out his contract and let him leave for free. Stripped Abaumayang of captaincy and has currently froze him out of the squad...and even though the next few weren't disciplinary reasons like the first few I named...he's dropped Leno to number 2. He sent Bellerin out on loan. Pepe, a record signing can barely sniff the pitch. Arsenal fans aren't used to managers making huge decisions like that...but Arteta has clearly justified every single one. At the moment Arteta's squad know exactly who and what they're playing for.

For the Ralf Rangnick project to succeed - the board needs to trust and back Rangnick. then Rangnick can handle the players and their egos. If the board does not do that then there was no point appointing Rangnick and wasting 6 months..Its as simple as that

Exactly. The club needs to back the manager to have the players on a leash and under control. Otherwise they will be hiring and firing new managers all the time. As an Arsenal fan it's obvious to me that Man United players have been the problem, not the manager. It's situations like this that make me commend what Arteta has done with Aubameyang. Obviously the club has backed him too. If Man United board are serious, they should be looking at an overhaul and rebuild of the team. Player power is toxic to football.

A lot of people seem to conveniently ignore this, but Ole's trademark style of play with Molde was a high-pressing game, not dissimilar from how Rangnick likes to play, but with players who are adaptable and versatile enough to make the team unpredictable. You can't play like that with Man United. The players don't strike me as very versatile, and so you either have to change the majority of the team, something fans don't have the patience for, or adapt your tactics to what the players on the team are capable of.

Egoist players are the reason for a team's downfall not everytime a manager is responsible simply disgraceful from players who conspicuously lack professionalism

Manu have the same problem Barca had for years. Manager can't find the right tactics for the players and therefore the results are where they should be. Still Barca were quite good and I don't have to tell you which player made that possible.

When Carrick decided to leave, it somehow give us a sight of something was not in the 'right place' inside. Perhaps it just the players has not get used on how the new manager's system works. However, it's such disgrace to called him out.

U cant compare tuchel ,klopp or guardiola with ragnick..Ragnick brought the clubs that were very low in the division into champions league spots but tuchel ,guardiola and all have managed only the rich clubs where they had the money to bring in the best players...thats the difference

I agree with a lot of what was said, but Rangnick will be around after this 6 months period wielding a lot of influence on who stays and who goes. There is going to be a massive change at United over the next 20 months and a lot of the current players won't be here once the dust settles.

The actual role hasn't been nailed down yet, but it is likely as a consultant which would be similar to that of a director of football and would include being involved in the selection of the next manager. The only reason he agreed to come for the second half of the season was if he also had an ongoing role.

Ronny and Bruno, big ego's upsetting the team. Take em to a few away games and leave them on the bench for 75 minutes. Send em on and see if they shake a leg. People just need to accept the fact he won’t defend much and just pass him the ball inside the box. Our useless midfield can’t even make forward passes. And that includes Bruno who is always trying flashy things like pogba does. Them both need to keep it simple. Henderson is half as talented but is twice the player.

We’re at a point in football where the players have the power. When you switch managers every 12-18 months, there’s no routine set in place. There’s a power shift in the dressing room

Those Man Utd "legends" who claimed that Conte wouldn't be a good fit at Man Utd (that hopeless Gary Neville especially)... 🤦‍♂️

What is interesting is if you watch the City documentary as i am sure you have, the one thing that stands out above all else is the all for one, one for all mentality of the entire squad on and off the pitch. Coupled with a coach who takes no BS & nobody is the superstar, just a squad of very talented guys working as a unit for the good of everyone. It is the exact opposite of Man United and i am not a supporter of either club, it is just the truth.

I am starting to think it is never good to have a team full of all big names. It never turns out well. U need to have some big names, some middle names and low raw talent names. Look at PSG, Man Utd then look at City, Liverpool, Chelsea. Some of the players in these teams were not even known.

You can't say Conte would have done this or that, because look at how they were before Ole came in. Conte's similar to Mou, you don't know that his approach would work with these players. Players, fans nobody wanted Conte's back 3 either (where would that leave all the wingers this squad has?), many players, fans and the board didn't want Conte, I think he had a chance to work in the short term but you know there's conflict where he goes the question is whether it would happen early and be a disaster or after getting resuts. So much inaccuracies spewed by these guys at times, only Carrick had the guts to bench Ronaldo they said.....Ole got hammered when he did it and they forgot, Ole got hammered when he took Ronaldo off for Lingard's running against Young Boys and he ended up making a bad back pass. So Ole did sit Ronaldo and they act like he didn't have the guts to do it. Short memories.

I keep telling folks, most of the time it's players that get managers sacked. When it comes to what managers demand of players, it's a question of "Can they do it? Will they do it? Do they want to do it?" Sadly, most times, they don't want to do what the manager says and the manager gets the axe. What I see happening right now at Man United is players feeling too important, and egotistical; they're probably thinking, "I'm too big to track back, to chase the ball down. The manager shouldn't demand from me what he's demanding. That's not how I want to play football. I'm not a kid." They forget the club is their employer and the manager is their boss. That's preposterous. I say sack such players immediately and move them on. I'm an Arsenal fan but I feel these Man United players have been getting their managers sacked intentionally. And it's in light of such situations that I can't fault Mikel for how he's handled Aubameyang. The club has to back the manager to have the players on a leash and under control or they will have to employ new managers all the time. The damage player power is doing to modern football is really terrible.

Solksjaer was never a good manager for United. But it surprises me people haven’t seen most players at United are the problem. United’s house needs to be cleaned from all the rotten apples.

If these players do not perform now, these are con men, thief and rediculous players which weren't given accountability by previous manager.

One thing for sure: This Man United drama is extremely entertaining. I have nothing against them, and I actually love some of their players, and I was rooting for Ole too. But this chaos is just so fun to watch. The dressing room, the recruiting decisions, the terrible management on and off the pitch, ginormous egos etc. is just irresistibly delicious.

I would bet anything that Bruno, CR7, Shaw, and Rashford are complaining. Why would Bruno want to play under a coach who wants to bring order? Under Ole, he was given free reign to do what he wanted. He would constantly lose the ball and play hero ball, but it would be forgiven because he'd score a pk to win a game. That goes for a lot of the United players. They've been used to playing without structure and winning through individual quality. I actually think it's what happened to Ole. He knew he had to give the team a style of play, an attacking one, but the players were already programmed to a perform in a chaotic system. At the end, he failed miserably. What United need to do is give Rangnick full power to send packing any player he doesn't fancy.

I was never a Mourinho fan, but since his time, it was obvious there was a group of players fault and the same still stands today. I feel bad for Rangnick because of all the hype that was built around him. Everybody talks about how he's gonna introduce gegenpress and control the ball and win it back. Isn't that what every manager want? People fail to realize that he never managed a club as big as United and he never competed in a league as fierce as the EPL. He might be a good coach in Germany, but he'll be molded by fire and steel in England and will be tested to the core every week. The hype that was built around him was unrealistic and it will hurt because of all the set expectations with that used up group of players that he got

Relax it's too early to say he won't succeed, but this is very clear the problem is not the managers it's these players, and we as fans we not holding them accountable.

I’m no man u fan so I’m enjoying this…but it’s annoying that most don’t talk about the obvious problem. They were 2nd last season and seemingly on the up! What changed?.. fake pundits.. keep saying ‘some players’. There’s only one with a bloated ego. Football is and always will be a TEAM sport. They won’t even make top 6 at this rate

It's not hard to finish second when the other top four clubs either start too slow (Chelsea) or implode by Christmas (Liverpool). Man City were how many points ahead of them again? And their performance in the Europa League final made it clear they weren't actually making progress. Adding Ronaldo has just accelerated things falling apart.

Obviously someone associated with the Catalan club would utter such nonsense, if you actually had watched games the problem has been in existence for as long as SAF retired. They only became 2nd as Liverpool was having the worst injury crisis and Chelsea was under Lampard, but I can't blame you, you are too young to understand that!!

The manager have no obvious cards on the bunch to use, so the way he's treating dressing room is the right way especially he's not the one how signed for Cristiano

Nobody is saying “Rangnick out”. Rangnick has only been there and month. He has also transformed every club he’s been at for the better. What he needs is time, especially behind the scenes. The good thing is, he now has all the footballing power at the club - which is why numerous players will leave and a few will be brought in over the next month. (Alvarez, Kamara & Dembele all on the bring on singing).
