I’m assuming mine is stretched, it’s popping during acceleration, carb is brand new valves appear to be in spec but could be off due to timing off too. But when the T is lined up on crank the cam gear is either a tooth forward or a tooth backwards after I adjusted it. So prolly needs changed then valves adjusted go from there. This all just happened out of the blue. You did A great job btw. Thank you

Yeah I'd say it's stretched, and thank you.

Dude, I believe you just solved a problem for me. I did a top end on my warrior a year ago and could never get the timing spot on so I just went with it. I’ve since put a pro- design filter setup and supertrapp slip-on on it and been fooling with jetting and needle position. I’ve always had this right off idle like stutter. Dang timing. Thanks Keith!

I got a fairly abused Yamaha Big Bear 250 for practically free, it ended up having more engine in the oil then oil in the engine, done a complete motor rebuild and seems like the original timing chain has wayyyyyyyy too much slop.

Does anybody know where the serial number for the rear diff is on the 1998 big bear 350 4wd? I have ordered the All Balls Racing rear diff seal and bearing kit from Partzilla and it has the wrong bearing. I sent it back and they sent another and it still has the wrong bearing. I talked to someone at All Balls Racing and he says that it is the right bearing. He thinks that the previous owner replaced the rear diff with one from different model. I don't think so because when I bought it, it was only 5-6years old so I don't think it was. I am trying to get in touch with the guy I bought it from but that was 18 years ago. I found on the Yamaha website what the serial number is for the rear diff but not where the serial number is. I can't see, I am going to try to clean it up some more and see if I can find it but any help would be appreciated.
