Replacing Bolts and Anchors at The City of Rocks, ID | Volunteer Climbing Steward Cody Lee

The City of Rocks is a favorite location that holds a special place in the heart of many climbers. Despite seeing a large amount of traffic from visiting climbers, it is a very rural area and the local population of climbers is very small.
This means there it's up to individual volunteers with a passion for this special place to care for the fixed gear one route at a time more often than large organized rebolting efforts.
Cody Lee is one of those dedicated stewards, this summer he worked with Dave Bingham, Steve Dodd, and Nate Liles to upgrade bolts and anchors on the popular bolted multipitch "Cruel Shoes" (5.7)
The ASCA is proud to support projects like this one and remove the cost burden of hardware from volunteer stewards who work hard to upgrade hardware on classic routes.
Thanks to the #petzlfoundation for supporting some of our work, and the great staff of City Of Rocks National Reserve (U.S. National Park Service) for working with stewards to get this important work done that keeps climbers clipping modern bolts and anchors.
