I'm having a hard time putting the new negative terminal around the post. What should I do to help it? Slide into position to seed properly.

For this you could buy battery terminal shims like this: amzn.to/3EJ3QYD This would help fill in the gap from the terminal and clamp so the clamps would be tight enough. Make sure after installing the shim and tightening down the clamp you put enough dielectric grease around the terminals and clamps. This is to prevent corrosion in the future that might build up between the new shim and terminal. Hope this helps! Thanks for your comment!

You did it wrong. 1st, you remove the negative terminal, then remove the positive terminal. To put them back on you are supposed to do that order in reverse- positive goes on first then negative last. You put the negative terminal back on first that is wrong. That can cause so many issues with the cars electrical system and ECU… also NEVER put terminal grease or anything on the terminals! It covers the grounds/connections. Which blocks good electrical current from flowing properly the terminals and battery posts just need to be kept clean. I always tell people to use a battery terminal brush on the terminals every 3-6 months. They are a $1 at the auto parts store that’s all that ever needs to be done. Brush the corrosion off and re attach terminals the proper way in the right order as I stated above: also if you have a flooded battery make sure to pop the caps off at least 2 times a year and fill it with distilled water to the top. Many people never check the flooded batteries liquid level. Agm batteries don’t need this.
