Thank you for mentioning the marine style. I was in autozone looking at everything except
Thanks man
Thanks for this. Until I watched the video, this seemed like something I'd rather pay someone to do. Just removed the old one, and will grab a new one at the parts store. The only thing that's different is my wife keeps stating I should stand in ankle-deep water while doing this to make sure I don't void the warranty. Seems odd to me 🤣🤣

No joking, I had a battery in a Cavalier explode on me (no acid hit my eyes Praise the Lord Jesus) ... No perimeter water needed.... Just a miracle... Learned to disconnect negative..... Whew !
If the screw on the replacement is too big use an index bit to widen it.
Thank you

Question!!🙋🏽♀️ I have a 2013 Toyota Corolla the wires leading into the terminal are very corroded some are split off how do I go about fixing that up ? Do I just cut into it like I would for the negative wire ?

Terminal replacement is pretty straightforward just like the one I show in the video and the positive terminal some cars have fuses so you just gotta be careful and make make sure you’re doing it correctly
I wish it were that easy to remove that stud nut. I tried to remove it from my 4Runner's positive terminal and it won't budge. And it's not even rusty!

You might wanna use pliers to hold it while trying to remove it for leverage

Hello, what do you mean by the crusted terminal will want to come back at you? thanks

I was referring to battery acid causing the terminal to get crusty over time
Do you have a link to the marine battery terminal you purchased? Thank you!

I don’t have a link to it but it’s from AutoZone. They usually bolt right up. Sometimes you do have to enlarge the hole just a little bit on the car side to fit the post thru

@@TheEnthusiastMechanic I appreciate you getting back to me! Perfect timming.
Hi, will there be any issues if we used an after market terminal that is different than the stock terminal type?
@TheEnthusiastMechanic

No just make sure you can secure any wires to it for the best connection

I need to replace the terminal on the negative end, but it looks like the clamp and wires are all connected together? Will I have to replace the entire negative cable?
@TheEnthusiastMechanic

You can cut the end off and crimp a new one as long as your wire’s are long enough.
Hi sir, I have a question. When I drive somewhere and park and go right back to my car. My car is dead. I’ve had someone jump my car before. The last couple times I just pop my hood open and wiggle the positive wire and my car battery works. But it works here and there where I have to wiggle or pull that wire on top of the battery for it to work. I hope it’s just a terminal issues and I’m going to change the terminal today. Any advices? Kind of worries me to not know if my car is going to turn on today or not and be stuck somewhere. Thank you

Try changing the terminal if that doesn’t fix you might have some other issue you should definitely test it

@@TheEnthusiastMechanic I can’t change my terminal cause that screw on top that connects that other wire is too tight. Is there anything I can spray on it to safely loosen it? I don’t have the electric tool like you have. I used a click torque

@@Lonbites try some penetrating oil, but sometimes they are under their tight after a few years
Where did you get those parts from? Because autozone doesn’t have those
@TheEnthusiastMechanic
Жыл бұрын
They were at my local Autozone they do have them, but they arent specific to any car they are universal you’d have to look at the battery section area, where they sell, terminals and cables and things of such
What about the negative terminal
@TheEnthusiastMechanic
Жыл бұрын
It’s the same process on the negative end aswell
@Lorestat
Жыл бұрын
@@TheEnthusiastMechanic Its not the same process, the negative does not have a replacement Terminal, its a cable to a Ground.
@TheEnthusiastMechanic
Жыл бұрын
@@Lorestat if you replace the whole cable end of it with the terminal, yes that would be different but in the case of just cutting off the terminal, if let’s say it was all rotted away, it would be the same process as in the video if you were not replacing just the terminal and with the original style
