Hello everyone welcome to the channel I'm glad you're here with me! My name is Mike, I work as a mechanic and I love cars and anything automotive related. I have 15 years of experience on cars and light & medium duty trucks. I have experience in many different varying engine types from gasoline to diesel. I've worked for dealerships and independent shops I can share the knowledge that I've learned here on this channel. This channel is here to show you my everyday work adventures and show you what I do as mechanic. I try to show you how I do repairs and diagnostics on common things that I see on the daily here at the shop. I try to give you a general idea of repairs and diagnostics to help you out with similar repairs that you might be doing yourself. If your here just to watch because you like this kind of stuff that's ok too, hopefully you can find my videos entertaining. All that said thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoy the channel and I hope you have a great day!

Cheap Chinese crap that they charge good money for crap, and this has been the trend for the last five decades for the US, and exactly what is wrong with our economy. No national loyalty from businesses is what has caused the downfall of our country, along with overpaid power hungry politicians who also violate their oaths of office and are corrupt treasonous traitors unfit to be in our government!
They make a female and male adapter goes on that and hooks to the hose to where it don't collapse
What happens if you see black flakes what dose that mean
Coolants have improved significantly over the years. The factory fill can easily go 5 uears. When I started driving, we used to call it anti-freeze, and we'd use it in the winter. In the summer, many people would just use plain old water. They'd even add some when we filled up our gas. Of course, thermostats, hoses, water pumps, and radiators would need to be replaced much more often. Maintenance today is often overlooked.
muy claro video gracias
If you read MB shop manual , most rotors are left alone , the thickness is the critical issue there , Just use the same pads as the original ones . If you have a small lip at the edge of rotor , but have some meat left , grind a bevel on the pad so the lip is out of the way .Use the right grease at the right places on the pads and caliper .
Five gallons of gas and a match will clean it.

Pay is too low, no training of any kind in independent shops. Tools are too expensive.
That's how a real positive worker show the love he got for the work he do .#1 respect 💯 🙏🏻 🫡. I was a carpenter all my tools was looking new some had 25 years.
Thank you! If you take care of your tools they take care of you.
It doesn't care if it's dirty or not.. Owned operated tire/balance machines for years.. If you're tidey, you won't need to clean it..
I still prefer it be cleaned once a month to not let stuff build up!
@TheEnthusiastMechanic keep the tools clean and working properly it makes the job better and easy.🫡 I see a dirty shoop I'm walking away asap.
If it ain't broke then don't far king _fi it._ 🤦♂️
Crap. _fi_ = _fix it_ 🤯
where is info for models WITHOUT all wheel drive? I hear a noise, but jack it up and spin, no noise...???? Maybe the bearing is just starting to go out (255,000 miles). I have already replaced the R front bearing. Now sound starting to come from driver rear.
For front wheel drive it’s the same exact process as I show in the video but easier because there’s no axle to mess with and sometimes bearings when you lift them up will not make noise because they need the weight of the vehicle on them
Hi Mike. Is it a suspension arm on the lower control arm that you worked on the toyota rav4
@@JohnBassile i replaced the ball joint that attaches to the lower control arm.
@@TheEnthusiastMechanic yes you did but in a another video you were showing a part that you wanted guys to tell you what it was so I thought that piece was an arm that was a part of the control arm connecting to the chassis. That's my guess but sorry if I'm wrong
@@JohnBassile oh it’s ok you’re good I thought you asked me what the ball joint was attached too in the Toyota video. Good guess but that other parts that I wanted people to guess on is a sway bar link for a Mercedes
@@TheEnthusiastMechanic I thought about putting sway bar link but it didn't resemble one . thank you for replying
@@JohnBassile thank you for supporting the channel. I really appreciate it.
Sway bar links off of a Mercedes
@@1stgenchris187 right on you got it!
@@TheEnthusiastMechanicI guessed the brand right at least😂
@@tox-eye-ceazy4748 the brand is all you need! Lol
'What colour is that? Looks like something a female petrolhead would install on their man trap. 😲.
😂😂😂😂 It’s red I think the camera makes it look a little pinkish
I know the one on the left and he is called Jim and that may be his twin brother Alphonso on the right. 😁
😂😂😂😂 I’m always looking forward to your comments. You always crack me up, sir!
I would suggest you might consider advising overseas viewers that they will miss out due to the cost of the shipping. I am in Australia so way out of your Zipcode. 😁
That’s a good point I didn’t consider it thank you for the tip!
Here are seven words for the algorithm. (Sorry, brain dead this week 🤦♂️ )

You'll get to 100k subscribers. Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near Chicago, or I'd stop in and say hi. As a NY viewer, I love seeing rust belt repairs. Keep up the great work. I enjoy your content and look forward to new posts.
Thank you!
Looking forward to you hitting that 10k.. 🤙
Thank you!
When KZread channels announce giveaways they often attract scammers that reply to commenters telling them that they have won. They often copy the channel logo and use a similar name to try to fool commenters. The scammers will ask for info etc... In an attempt to combat the scammers, try to avoid the word 'Giveaway' in future video titles. Consider providing your viewers with a heads-up in the video when you reach 10k subscribers. Good luck in reaching that target ASAP, as I enjoy your content. Like a few others I came here from VEHCOR :)
Good advice I appreciate it!

It's not just the cheap parts now!

Great seeing the growth!

Hello Sir. I have 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 V8 5.3l and having problems with transmission shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd gear so I got 2 estimates and 1 shop wanted 5,500 and 6,000 to rebuild and a used one can't trust them so if I change filter and oil would that help cause the oil is very dirty and black. Thank you in advance for replying
That’s pricey for a rebuild. I’m in Ohio and a rebuild for my 2010 Silverado is 4,000.
when the 1k mark was?
It was 2 years ago
I put a AEM bruteforce so far it's good
Aem is a good brand they have quality ones this was a no name brand one
Like the ego trip of owning a Merc but doesn't have the $$$ for the best maintenance? I used to change my own pads and the rotor had a wavy surface. I used the softest pads because they had better stopping power when they were cold and I wasn't concerned with the 30 minute job every few months. I never change the wavy rotor because my warped mind considered the waves gave a larger surface area for extra stopping power. The soft pads bedded into the troughs and peaks fairly quickly so just had the "help" that along a little after the change. *Thank you* for the video Mike. 👍
I get a lot of pad slaps on these the rotors can be pricey
Cool video. Just did a pad slap on my ride Tuesday . Rotors were ok looking so i said what the heck.
I don't understand why people buy those cheap warm air intakes. If you're going to add a cold air intake, buy a reputable brand.
I agree this one was probably the worst one that I’ve seen manufactured
Pad slap was GM policy decades ago for cars under warranty.
This is a great video. Happened to me a while ago. Thank you for the tip !
Probably an old plug. Looks like carbon or burnt oil residue
Hello? Where is the location of the fuel filter?
If it’s a wagon, it’s located underneath the car on the drivers rear side
Dealing with the rust sucks. Bearings and exhaust work are the absolute worst.
I’ve had to replace my Honda lug nuts because the covers were somewhat squashed. I replaced them with aftermarket solid lug nuts, no covers.
Close your eyes and it's a different story
😂
I don’t understand how shops don’t charge more up in the northern parts, I hate the heat but working on cars down here is so much more enjoyable without rust flakes in the eyes every time you impact something
Depending on the situation, I do wind up charging more labor hours if something like this arises. On this vehicle book time calls for 1.5 hours and they’re going to wind up paying 2.5 hours. I always get compensated for the time that it takes me to heat and beat the bearing off.
I’m sure it’s not that hard, y’all northerners just like to complain
Y’all isn’t a word
As a northerner who moved down to Florida, you have zero clue what you are talking about. Please delete this fuckery, for your sake.
It isn’t that it’s hard it’s that book time only pays like hour for a bearing job and sometimes it takes a hour just to get the bearing off
@@zombiesandsimgaming7983 Technically it's a pronoun. Y'all comes from "you all". We call that a contraction. 😉
😂
The orange rust you see is called Fretting Rust 👍
Looks like duck feet
@@TuckerCarlson323 they do don’t they I didn’t notice until now 😂
What would a driver noticed if hes driving with a bad ball joint? Sometimes when I turn a corner at low speed going to the left my steering wheel will stay in place and I actually have to steer back to go straight.
@@gavsmith5 that is one possibility what you mentioned typically you’ll hear knocking noises or squeaking noise when turning the wheel and going over bumps, you should hear knocking noises typically also sometimes a loose steering feeling can occur with a bad ball joint
We should be able to manufacture something that simple that would last 20 years. I think we surely have material that would hold up to fuel and additives.
The car just went through puberty and it's nuts dropped? 😏
@@josephking6515 😂😂😂😂….. thank you for that. I really needed a joke today that made me bust out laughing.
In the rare case you can’t get new ones at least grind off that dumb ass crome cap they work way better when you do
corrosion inbetween the chrome hulls and the lugnuts themselves.
Just came across this channel ended up using your link and bought one. Good review it sold me.
Welcome to the channel and I hope your new light serves you as well as mine have
jeez. so hot - even a lug nuts get swollen
The very common swollen lug nuts! Those covers look nice but they really cause trouble after a bunch of years in the salt. Had do replace the full set on my wife’s explorer.
Right on the money!
I agree with you, but I've seen greasable ball joints with torn rubber do the same thing. Modern parts are built like crap.
Yea I’ve seen it happen too with those think boots
