I disagree on this, because if any stolen items are handed down by your parents you have to return them. Any loan made by your parents can be collected against the inheritance. That is a common law. Crime means murder. Yes children cannot be put in jail because of parents. But the government has right to confiscate ill gotten wealth as the estate is still continuing.

Slavery was part of human society long before the African slave trade and is very much still a part of human society. Rather than using your energy calling everyone that disagrees with you dumb (not very pc of you) and racist, you could do something positive towards erradicating the slavery and human trafficking that's taking place now in this generation. That would be much more welcome, we don't need your reparations for our great grandparents circumstances thank you. No amount of money can undo the evil acts of the past.

I’m mixed race and I think the idea of reparations is a slippery slope and isn’t a viable solution. That being said, I wish they answered her question on the fact the government was STILL paying off a debt to slave owners in 2015 as I had no idea about this and I think that is ridiculous. You could tell none of them wanted to address it because it was a very good point and diminished their argument about it being ludicrous to pay out for things of the past when apparently we were all fine for it to be going on when it was being paid out to the perpetrators. It’s a complex issue for sure but yeah I just wish we got to hear more of a back and forth on ALL the points raised rather than Piers dodging the ones that undermined some of his arguments 🤷🏽‍♂️

It was a debt to a bank in 2015, not to the actual slave owners.

Unfortunately for the argument that “we shouldn’t have to pay reparations because slavery happened so long ago”, the fact still remains, a debt is a debt! It doesn’t matter how long I decided to not pay taxes, even after I am gone, the IRS is coming for their money. They will take any property, land or valuables that I had no matter who I left it to. Why? Because a debt is a debt!! If I owed $1,000,000 in taxes in 1980 and the IRS doesn’t catch up to me until 2023, I’m paying $1,000,000 PLUS 43 years of interest! People are ok with this because we know the punishment for evading taxes. Why are we upset when it’s the other way around? The value of 40 acres and a mule in 1865 was about $4000. Today it’s worth around $200,000 give or take. That doesn’t even include the wealth that could have been gained over this period of time. Generational wealth passed down. If American had done the right thing in the first place, you wouldn’t be faced with this astronomical debt now. But as I stated, a debt is a debt and it doesn’t matter how long you put it off, it’s still there and it only gets bigger.

Read about the history of Africa, the continent had slave trade for thousands of years before whites came. All of humanity has been engaged in the slave trade. The word slave comes from the slavic slave trade, whites bing sold as slaves. Slavery was seen as natural before the British said no this is not okay. Other countries before have tried but only the British managed to convince the whole world that slavery is evil. It didn't mean that what happened was okay, the white people who participated were horrible human beings, it just means that it's unreasonable to punish people today for it.

No matter how hard we try the blacks won’t let t happen. Yes it has been very difficult for everyone concerned. But they’ve got to learn from our history and let it go. Otherwise what’s the use in living without all this pain and hatred. I think the words racist and racism should be banned from our language. Oh, and I’m white.

Why is this even a discussion, did they discuss it with the Jews, or Japanese or the slave owners? When it comes to race relations with black people its always a discussion but nothing ever gets done!

I recall back in 1972 when I belonged to a theater group heavily influenced by Marxism as so many theater groups throughout America were back then, and most likely still are. And I recall a specific conversation I had with a co-director. She explained that Americans are too spoiled, too selfish and too stupid to ever do the right thing and vote in a socialist government. And then she explained how when the cultural Marxists figured that out, they planned to enter all our institutions as bureaucratic, unelected managers and alter the policies of those institutions to conform to their revolutionary Marxist agenda, to radically alter America into a socialist state through those institutions, and the Department of Education reveals their radical success, and lo and behold, they now got the military, CIA and FBI. THAT was the successful first stage, capturing all our institutions. The 2nd stage was developing a deadly political weapon based on false claims of racism, turning America into a nation corrupted by radical racist division when, in fact, America had been heroic in dismantling at least 95% of racism in America, until the Dems started jacking up false claims of racism across all political fields. THAT was the 2nd stage. You figure out what the 3rd stage is. But one aspect of it is certain: dismantling our Constitution piecemeal, as they are already active in carrying out. And here’s some pertinent info on that Leftist front Media will neve reveal: In 1968 I read all the literature produced by the Leader of the Black Muslims in America (much of what Ali got indoctrinated into accepting until Malcolm X freed him from that rabid racist indoctrination), the Honorable Elijah Mohammed. Much of it was educating Blacks on “real Black history” where he would explain that all Whites are devils born that way because a mad scientist millennia ago had performed an experiment of splicing human genes with the genes of a pig, resulting in the creation of Whites. This phenomenon was the birth of Black racism, and Muhammed, and now the Dem Party, argue this is not racism because it’s a racism defending oneself against racism, nullifying the racist aspect of Black racism. But we all know in our heart of hearts what Gertrude Stein revealed, that racism is racism is racism. But the Dems didn’t and don’t want to accept that fact. They saw how quickly Muhammed became wealthy and powerful and controlling the minds of multi-thousands of followers, and they wanted in, and that’s why racism became a permanent weapon used by Dems, even when racism doesn’t exist, which is now 99.9 percent of the time. Here’s what we don’t talk about: When someone suffers from a mental illness like racism that has afflicted them, their parents, their siblings, friends and associates, and the prognosis makes clear how difficult it would be for them to be cured, that it might take decades with a fierce dedication of being honest with themselves on the genesis of the illness and why it was allowed to spread, causing massive suffering and murders. That’s the Democratic Party’s problem in essence. The Dem Party was always, in essence, a dedicated party of racist leadership because they never really examined in depth, and at length, their racism. They became addicted to the disease of racism and benefitted from it because, although racism is a deadly disease for those they persecute and enslave, it helped to make them rich and powerful, especially powerful, for even a poor White could freely dominate with cruelty and even kill a person of color and be protected, actually justified by the Dem legal system, and when the sheets were pulled away from Dem leadership faces-being found out, what they feared and still fear most-they created Jim Crow. What’s changed? Things at the surface changed, no doubt; but what of the Dem heart that moves the mind that ends in action taken? I’ll explain one thing they did that reveals the etiology of their corruption, their inherent, never-dealt-with racism that is still firmly intact. Why would they deal with it when it is the fundamental source for their wealth and power? Here’s one of many examples that prove this point: President Roosevelt during the Great Depression was advised the bedrock of American culture, the Nuclear Family, was under serious assault from within. Men en masse were leaving their homes, hitting the roads, hitchhiking or jumping freight trains to get to where the work was, and then sending back money to their wives and children. And these men would sometimes be away for years; and in the data Roosevelt read, his singular concern was for those men on the road seeking work who were also seeking prostitutes to fend off their loneliness in being separated from the existential comfort of their wives and children, and widespread cases were reported of men transmitting syphilis to their wives upon returning home. And their wives, after stretches of loneliness, started seeking nuptial comfort from other men. THIS is the origin of the Welfare State. It was Roosevelt’s serious attempt at saving the Nuclear Family. He wasn’t looking at color. He was looking at the complex dynamics of Family and how it is the cornerstone of every successful culture, what every anthropologist knew until the Dems took over all our universities and began to war against the Nuclear Family as Marx advised, but had the good sense to keep their own nuclear families firmly intact, what reveals the Dems’ utter hypocrisy right from the beginning of their cultural Marxist assault on the dispossessed, creating a not-so-disguised newly contrived Slave Urban-City System, using the Welfare System to do just that, mostly to keep getting the votes from impoverished Blacks, and the Blacks who agreed to support this system (political House _______) would be paid off with fully paid-for college degrees at the best universities and a guaranteed good life after leaving those universities. This is also the origin of Black race hustlers supporting the Dem Slave Masters (the powerful White Liberal Leadership of the Dem Party), like Al Sharpton, Maxine Watters and Don Lemmon, always jacking up racism in every second as they learned from Elijah Muhammed, to keep their true motives hidden, wiping out the frontal lobes of their followers with searing racist rhetoric. That’s a familiar tactic of Dems, no doubt. And the proof is in the pudding exactly how the Dems weaponized the Welfare State to keep Blacks in line as permanent Dem voters: Roosevelt created the Welfare State to save the Nuclear Family, but when weaponized by racist Dems post-Great Depression, they would use the Welfare State to destroy Black Nuclear Families, robbing entire Black communities of the fundamental strength of a strong nuclear family. And even while Dems were intentionally, systematically destroying Black Nuclear Families through Welfare, they kept protecting and strengthening their own nuclear families. To accomplish this, Dem leadership simply made it a condition that Black women would get support from their State husband-daddy ONLY if they promised never to cheat, to not ever let another husband-daddy into their home. If they did, it would be the end of the relationship-no more money, dammit! The Dem leadership were in fact using Blacks in an experiment involving the implementation of Stalin’s model for dismantling the “oppressive nuclear family construct” used by patriarchal oppressors to stomp on and suffocate the freedom of women and children. This involved first and foremost taking over K-12 Education, as well as controlling all capital flow to keep Blacks impoverished and dependent on Welfare for survival, excepting those Blacks who support the newly devised Slave System, the Al Sharpton’s, the Jesse Jacksons, the Maxine Watters and Don Lemmons in service to keep jacking up racism as the only means Dems have to emotionally hide what they have always been up to in keeping Blacks in servitude, especially when they are needed to commit rampant violence against property and innocent people to achieve the ends planned by Dem leaders through that violence, and Kamala bailing these nihilists out speaks clearly what the Dem-instigated violence means: a direct assault on our Constitutional Republic that was once held together by the Rule of Law, what Dems have obviously been dismantling since Trump became president, and there is no turning back for the Dems. They are now in the open. They have revealed what they are up to in destroying America, starting with Blacks after completing their first task of destroying Black nuclear families, the Dems proceeding to their 2nd major assault: taking over K-12 education and making sure Black children never get an education, knowing a K-12 education is the 2nd most powerful path to true freedom. Now consider this: President Johnson gave the Dems an open check to solve the problems of Black impoverishment. So far the Dems have spent $23,000,000,000,000 to clothe, feed, house and educate Black children out of poverty, and yet they still keep using that money instead to elevate themselves into upscale suburban homes with 2 Teslas in every garage. And Biden just gave them trillions more, which will lead to bankrupting America, what Dems want, the only way forward to implement their socialist regime that will save the planet by obliterating human beings, starting with Blacks, of course.
