"LET ME FINISH!" Piers Morgan Has HEATED Debate Over Whether King Charles Should Apologise

Ойын-сауық

Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by BLM activist Imarn Ayton, historian Tessa Dunlop and former butler to Princess Diana Paul Burrell to debate whether King Charles III should say sorry and pay reparations for historical racism and slavery used within the institution.
Piers thinks it is a ridiculous idea for people to pay for the wrongdoings of ancestors dating back hundreds of years and believes instead that the same energy should be put into modern issues today. Imarn disagrees and as she tries to explain the reason for unrest amongst minority communities towards the monarchy, the pair break out into a heated debate over why King Charles should apologise.

@Joseph Armachie - Bless You and thank you. In the 1960s and 1970s in London and parts of the UK, I don't doubt people of colour moving here had a very tough time. I grew up in London in the 1970s and in my schools there were children of all colours and races - I never saw colour, only the person. I fortunately didn't see anything bad happen. Imarn Ayton here has issues as she unfortunately must have grown up in a part of London where things were bad. Changing the future is possible but rewriting history isn’t! Sincere apologies for the way that your ancestors were treated, it’s was appalling, it really was but by opening our arms to welcome you all into our country, to share our communities & families is a start. Hatred & bitterness helps no one, blaming people for things we had no control over isn’t fair & just creates a divide or a sense of fear & unease. Make love, not war ❤

When black people used to complain or oppose racial oppression as a social operation they were judged as mentally ill, lobotomies were forcefully carried out upon black people for expressing some desire to escape some mysterious racially oppressive reality. We used to be tortured, I guess we can thank modern leading drivers of the western white identity as to why we are alive after making such expressions. Type in "racism and narcissism" by Richard Grannon. Type in these words "racial disparities" No one can be this ignorant so it must be your inability to handle truth.

I come from Canada, and we are a Constitutional Monarch in that although much of our relationship with the royal family is symbolic and ceremonial, this relationship is made explicit in our constitution (now whether or not we Canadians wish for this to remain, is another story). The thing that Piers is so blind to here is that Harry and Meghan are not responsible for starting talks about the royal family being racist or for pointing out what colonialism has done to populations and nations around the world... these discussions have gone on for decades in every single nation that is currently, or used to be a part of, the commonwealth - and so this conversation simply reveals how ignorant some people are to the uncomfortable parts of their own nation's history, and probably explains why so many in England are extremely proud of the monarch (understandably if we put ourselves in their shoes) yet fail to understand why so may people around the world are completely against what the monarch stands for particularly due to history (also understandable). OBVIOUSLY the majority of of the British do not believe the new King should apologize for history... as the majority of them have benefited from the Royal family being in their own nation - that is not a judgement, but simply to point out that yeah any people would be biased towards a Royal family if they were part of their own nation... but the discussion has nothing to do with the people of England, and has everything to do with those outside of England. Therefore, to blame all of this on Harry and Meghan is just laughable and he is just using them as a scapegoat... all the while ignoring hundreds and hundreds of years of colonialism. To answer his pathetic question, 'What does any of this have to do with King Charles?' - well one could argue over and over and over again that he himself is not racist (which I am not here to argue for or against), but that in itself is irrelevant because he now is the figurehead AROUND THE WORLD for the monarch and therefore the history of the family comes along with that. When someone becomes leader of a state (e.g. President, Prime Minister, etc.), they too inherit the responsibility to that nation's history, regardless of whether historical events are to be celebrated or if they are to be condemned. THAT is precisely why one cannot disregard the entire history of the monarch, simply because 'the current leader does not have a racist bone in his body'. Now a better question might be... 'what would be an appropriate form of an apology?' which can come in many forms and for starters, perhaps simply acknowledging history would be a first step.

I was reading some stuff about Piers Morgan, wondering if The claims that he is bigoted/hyperconservative/anti-democratic were true, and you know, watching this video of him yelling at a black woman who came on his show at his request to explain a viewpoint which is clearly common in the darker-skinned parts of the Commonwealth... I'm not getting the impression that they are false. He even yells the classic "Black people had slaves too!" while ignoring this whole argument around the fact that the royal family did, in fact, loudly encourage and benefit strongly from the conquest and brutal exploitation of dark-skinned people in countries like South Africa and the Caribbean.

The looting, the pillaging , plunder and theft around the world, the ethnic cleansing and genocides by the Bristish has done immense damage to the people of these countries for generations . If the king has any CONSCIENCE, COMPASSION AND EMPATHY, the most important and unique attributes that set fully fledged decent human beings apart from the rest of the animals, he would apologise for the "sins of his fathers" for the grotesque racism and mindless violence they inflicted on defenceless people around the world.

A good interview requires first of all: the ability to hear what the other person is saying and receiving the information. Secondly, it consists of follow-up questions in order to move forward once the information relayed is received. Piers Morgan had no right to bring Historian, Tessa Dunlop onto his show because his mind was already made up and he had already decided to dismiss whatever she had to say - not based on facts, but because he refused to receive anything she had to say on the issue. Piers Morgan, in my opinion displayed himself to be a bully. Ms./Mrs. Dunlop was verbally attacked and ridiculed. It's okay to not agree with something or someone, but to use your platform to further cement your own personal feelings and not use this as an opportunity to see another facet of an issue and to educate others watching this show is not what a true reporter does. He could have just as easily had this conversation on the telephone or on his patio. This was a waste of Ms./Mrs. Dunlop's time and mine.

Apologies do nothing and only let those responsible for those crimes, and those representatives and beneficiaries of those crimes that still live (the crown) get away with it. The damage done to the peoples of colonised lands was all in the name of profit and power, why shouldn't the price to be paid for those crimes and injustices be centered around money as well.

In 1835 the British gov took out a huge loan for 'slave compensation'. Instead of going to freed slaves, the money went to slave owners, as compensation for loss of "property". UK taxpayers were paying this loan back until 2015. That means descendants of those enslaved also helped pay it back. So hence why did this loan continue to be paid? As they are not direct victims!

They shouldn’t have to feel guilty because they have something that someone else doesn’t. Because they didn’t cause the other person not to have legs, it was decided long before they ever existed. Sure, maybe you feel some sense of guilt and want to help physically disabled people, but there shouldn’t be a tax on legs. White people today are not the ones who created the inequalities, they should not be forced to have a more difficult life due to something they did not choose, nor did they ever want to have black people suffer. I’m a young man just starting out my life. A reparations tax could potentially cripple my bank account and damage not only my relationships but my future aspirations as well. All because I was born white and other people with the same skin tone 100 years ago created a situation where people of my skin tone statistically live better lives on average?
