Repair Attempt: Original NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) That Woke Up In a Bathtub Full Of Ice

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here, I try to repair an original Nintendo Entertainment System Console that has no video, and a surprising (to me, at least) fault. Also, this thing is in beautiful condition otherwise.
Note that I'm not a professional (in any sense of the word), and please don't mindlessly copy anything that I do.

NES red blinking lights are almost always so easy to fix. Buddy of mine bought a nes console at a goodwill, he said blinking red light no matter what he did. He gave it to me, within a minute figured out the problem. The pins on the 72 pin connector were so loose, NES couldnt detect the cartridge actually being connected. So, took the 72 pin connector out and with some tweezers, simply re-adjusted the pins. Now a very tight clean fit and every single game works perfectly. Love NES, so easy to figure out and fix.

Seeing a game pressed down when the shell is off is so cool! The closest we have to a clear NES case. Great fix!

Thank you! And, now that I think about it, I'm surprised clear aftermarket NES cases aren't more common.

The trick to fixing things - take two broken widgets, and combine parts to make one fixed widget.

I have that QuickShot joystick. It's an interesting peripheral, in that it doesn't offer any advantage over a standard controller, and in fact acts exactly like one, but with very loose direction controls.

Oh yep, the only only advantage to using that joystick is so that you'll think you look cool when trying to land and crashing in Top Gun.
