They cut him off & don't even let him speak but the questions they ask sometimes have nothing to do with TikTok are just plain racist against China or the Chinese. This one congresswoman Debbie Lasko insisted Chew respond to her question, "Do you agree China committed human rights abuse against the Uyghurs" or something like that. The CEO try to respond nicely & she kept cutting him off while he's talking & kept grilling him: Do you, or not? You are not answering my question! The CEO retorts, I'm here to talk about TikTok, Madam Congresswoman (or something like that).

I think maybe she thinks the CEO is cute since she is somewhat young & this CEO is really not bad looking. All the other congress people are either guys or old ladies. That Debbie Lasko is the worse one i've watched (although I've only watched a few questioners), she was rude & cut Chew off while he was trying to give his explanation. She also asked a question out of context but just wanted to take a stab at accusing China of human rights abuse against the Uyghurs which was uncalled for & irrelevant to this topic of this hearing.

The gearing is about the data security of TikTok, not human rights abuse. One has nothing to do with the other. He was smart to answer her that way. She was trying to sneak in a question ti defame the Chinese government, yes or no answer would commit himself on his personal point of view which she can later use against him. She’s either sneaky or she’s ignorant or she thinks people are stupid like her. The question has nothing to do with TikTok, period! Only ignorant people would agree with her! And he is not from China, how can he be associated with the CPC, you’d have to be a Chinese citizen. She sounded polite because of her soft tone but actually she is not. When Mr Shou replied that TikTok will look into the matters she presented. She didn’t acknowledge it and at least say, “Thank you for that commitment that you will look into this issues and I will look forward to you implementing them”. Instead she said TikTok has a lot to learn from American counterparts when it comes to transparency. To me, she condescending.

Incredible, simply incredible! During the course of these 5 hours, a number of things have become clear. Firstly, it's alarming how ignorant some of congressmen are (Don't speak about this particular congresswoman, she is kind of fine comparing to the others. Even though she was also spinning the same broken record. But can imagine how much she is embarrassed to be in this group). If they can't even grasp the basics of how WiFi works, how can they possibly make decisions that affect the lives of millions? Did they even consult with an IT expert before they talk such nonsenses before the millions. Secondly, there appears to be a complete lack of self-awareness as a collective. Even if one of them were to display ignorance on a particular issue, the others seem incapable of correcting them. It's as if they all share the same stubborn, uninformed distorted perspective. Their behavior is discourteous and disrespectful, which is a subject in and of itself. Their actions don't even reflect the desires and the will of the general public. It's evident that their anti-China agenda has been pre-planned and pre-scripted, with no regard for its impact on the American people. I wonder if being anti-China is simply a political plot to remain relevant and gain votes, to pretend to have a policy of a concern? This is a kind of a reality show. I would like to see genuine effort to address the real issues that the US is currently facing. America, please, come to your senses, there are real issues begging to be solved.
