Rep. Porter grills Big Pharma CEO for price gouging

Half a million dollars.
That's the bonus a Big Pharma CEO got for hiking the price of ONE cancer treatment drug.
How many patients lost their lives because they couldn't afford this medicine? Here's our conversation.

Her effectiveness in grilling Corporate CEOs was the reason she was kicked off of the Financial Services Committee by the Leadership of her own party. And, the reason I continue to support her today.

So you are saying that corporate America gives lobbyist dollars to the DNC and her own party kicked her off to keep the lobby dollars flowing in? Makes sense. But that would probably be the only reason.

@@joyceboisvert9167 You do realize it’s a worldwide epidemic. People love to only bring up California because it’s a very liberal state. “I’m a MAGA, so let’s own the libs by bringing up CA and San Fran”. Check out Florida. Now that’s a state where everything goes to die! I’m not saying you’re MAGA. I don’t know. That’s just the stunt they love to pull. It’s gotten worse in Atlanta in the last few years. I see one man every day walking the same street, and it brings me to tears. I’d take him home if I could. Our gun violence has spiked significantly too. I honestly don’t know what Gavin Newsom’s plan is. In GA, I have a Republican Governor (non-MAGA), and he’s taking part of the leftover Pandemic money to build more shelters and HUD housing. He’s actually half good. I think it’s his team that help him make some good decisions. Florida…🤦🏼‍♀️

Hopefully she is the beginning of no nonsense politics in America. Millennials are finally coming into voting power and we are Sick. Of. This. Shit. Its embarrassing as hell to have old people acting like toddlers throwing temper tantrums while "running the country" and then pointing it at young people and blaming them for "ruining the country" when we don't even have political power yet and they're the ones who sold out our futures. Also, having Jabba the Hut's dumber orange cousin as our president is really an all time low. I said fuck the feds after the orange overlord stole the election and started looking to my governor and state for leadership. At this point Canada should burn down the White House again, he's disgraced it so much.

They are employed in the private sector and they are not the least bit interested in getting house reps to "vote for them." So she is shaming people who just sit there but who could (at any moment) just leave. They don't have to sit there. I like what she does. Porter asks a question, be assured she KNOWS the answer and you'd better. And, she takes you to task , but still respectfully and on topic. Her techniques to draw out these answers is impeccable. All public servants should have these skills (unless they are at fault, ha). This man should feel guilt, but I doubt he does. In the corporate world, this greed is "just business". Like that's an excuse for greed, deception and callousness. 🤬 Americans are tired of that attitude - we expect YOU to bring your religious beliefs, morality and values to work with you , not feel it's not necessary because "it's just business". I love watching her tear these shady businessmen down, but boy oh boy does it ever get my blood boiling just hearing them try (read: failing) to explain away their greed.

She certainly does not "suffer fools gladly," no matter how many millions they make (naturally worth every last penny). Actually, the only time they may feel they're earning their mega salaries is when they're being grilled by Congresswoman Porter!

I don’t know why the most used phrase in committee isn’t “I yield my time to Representative Porter”.

Been trying to obtain revlimid for my husband since September and it is impossible. Unfortunately his cancer has progressed so much that it is too late now. Insurance doesn’t cover it because it’s for a different type of cancer and they keep delaying or denying and did not give any option to be able to buy it. Breaks my heart that this is the world we live in.
