The huge impact Andy Kim's campaign has _already_ had they didn't mention here is that he single-handedly brought down New Jersey's bizarre, arcane party machine system of picking nominees, in which preferential spots on the primary ballot (e.g. being listed on the same party-endorsed "ticket" as Biden) were decided at conventions dominated by obscure party bosses. He was running against the literal first lady of the state with all the political connections she has to these party officials, and through mobilizing enough people who were sick of this convoluted process (which of course is conducive to all kinds of corruption), he was actually able to pull off a few surprise wins at these conventions, so much so that first lady Tammy Murphy has withdrawn from the race. Can't wait to see what he does as senator!

Who cares if he's the least NJ candidate? NJ still needs to change the whole system that enable corruption there from the mob days. The state has way too little economy for being a peninsula and bordering Philly and NYC.

We saw that our taxes were going to Chris Christie's stomach when he closed down a public beach for him and his family after he lost reelection. I don't think voters still want "New Jersey." More corrupt NJ senators selling information to foreign country's to secure chicken sales and gold bars for the sake of "New Jersey"😂

This guy was cleaning up trash left in the capitol building on the night of Jan 6. He is really smart and decent and we need more of his kind serving.

Andy Kim seems exactly like the kind of people we need in government right now! I really hope we can find more people like him who actually want to serve the people.

I never felt beholden to the 2-party system, but Andy Kim always struck me as genuine... and I'm not too proud of NJ politicians, but seeing him cleaning up after January 6th to honor our country, he's got a soft spot in my heart from now on.

I think the proper analogy is ... "Run themselves and not other people". If you cant run yourself, you cant run a government. But I get what your saying.

Andy Kim is so animated. His energy is higher than Ronny Chieng and Jordan Klepper and that's wild. It's like Ronny and Jordan needed a break and they thought, hey, let's bring on Andy Kim, he'll take over during the interview.

I was very moved to see Andy Kim on 1/7/21 in the rotunda of the Capitol, cleaning up the mess left by the insurrectionists the day before.

I only knew Rep. Kim from his votes in Congress. He's impressive, humor, humility, and speaking serious Truth. That moment around 9:16, where you could hear a pin drop.... He's going to bring *that* to the Senate. You guys make an awesome team, asking some great questions. TDS is gold! Thank you, Jon and everyone on the Team! 💜✊

only way to fix,, Elections should be funded solely by the Fed or the state, with a fixed amount available to all qualified candidates rather than relying on private donations. This could help ensure fairness and reduce the influence of money in politics.

You know….pay close attention to how some congressmen and women speak at this level as compared to how senators speak….and ask yourself “what happens to them and their legit values on their way “up” to the senate level?” I see the answer plain as day…do you? Congressional leaders like Kim and Porter are amazing! Put them in the senate and pray that they stick to their core beliefs

I could make the obligatory Kim/Trump jokes but I'll just say NJ needs Senator Kim.

Why in heavens name can't we have more individuals similar to this running for office. And for president. So tired of the overflow of narcissism and unnecessary chaos in our political system. Literally nothing of substance is achieved, mainly because they repeatedly default on progressive workable solutions. Solutions that do not fit their personal agendas! So America continues to rot. I enjoyed this interview.

Representative Andy Kim was very BRAVE to go on your show & he definitely kept up with the barbs & humor as well as answering the questions with common sense and intelligence.

This was an excellent segment! Particularly liked 0:50 about NJ voters believing their politicians are corrupt, and Ronny's quick, "Well they were kinda validated."

​@@SelinaCat He's been subpoenaed to appear at a civilsuit that was brought by the 17-year-old in question.

I was (incredibly) able to intern with Kim when I was in college. He has some amazing stories about his time at Deep Springs College and having traversed America with his friend until their car broke down. I really hope he becomes Senate Majority Leader, Governor, or President one day. His loyalty to our district and to his values is amazing; he'll even do town halls in the heavily Republican areas of our district.

Andy Kim is AWESOME! Can hardly wait until he is our next senator from NJ.

He seems like a great guy. Trustworthy, well meaning, hard-working, smart, reasonable and easy to talk to. We need people like him in the law-making bodies everywhere.
