"Bio Diesel, is produced from variety of means, Zatropa being one of them. Actually, Zatropa is the preferred option as it is 3rd generation feed stock for producing Bio fuel. Bio Diesel can also be produced from Yellow grease, which is a name denoted to used edible oil after deep frying.
The Zatropa Oil is produced by crushing the Zatropa seeds in oil mill. The oil is filtered and then subjected to process called as transesterification. During this process the fatty acids and soap formation are separated and what is obtained in the commercial quality of bio diesel.
This Biodiesel is either blended with conventional diesel as B20, B10, B5 or B100. Which means as % of biodiesel blended with conventional one. For B100, the diesel engine design may need some changes.
