There are dozens of healthy people on their roster that haven't had a match this year so far. This is not a business. It's a charity. Any ideas of ever making a profit are long gone. If you went to wrestling school and Tony likes you: you have a job for life. Don't matter if they can't get over or are past their prime, out of shape etc.

The biggest obstacle to the success of AEW is Tony Khan. He’s living in another reality and by that, I mean a coked up delusional world of denial. Everything TK says is ironic and that clip aged about as well as all the other dumb shit he’s said over the years. The crazy part is he has veterans who could run it better than him but they’re content to collect their checks and not rock the boat. Three names that immediately come to mind are Jake Roberts, Jeff Jarrett, and Jim Ross. They have many decades of experience between them and Jarrett ran TNA although he wasn’t good at the financial side of things. If he had Jarrett running the day to day with Jake Roberts and Jim Ross running talent relations, things would change for the better. But TK has surrounded himself with parasites like Jericho and “The Elite” who only care about themselves. Honestly, if AEW made it another 2 years without imploding, I’d be shocked.

You can sell out a venue, but that doesn't pay the bills. TV deals and merch revenue make the most money, and Tony hasn't proven the ability to do either. Even if he gets $200mill for 5 yrs on CW, that doesn't outpace the money they spend on travel, licensing, and contracts. Plus, Tony has 4 shows each week minimum with Dynamite, Collision, Thunder (I'm probably wrong on the name, but I know they run 3 shows) and ROH.

There should be 20 people in each division. 20 tag guys, 30 ish female talents, 20 legit main eventers, 20 midcard to lower card, and 20 developmental/new hires. If the total headcount was 250, it wouldn't be a problem from ring crew to announcers to tech crew to front office, but 250 talents is crazy. If he can pay these guys, god bless him. But if there's like 20 million in loses that you can point to talent as the reason, they gotta start cutting people or not renewing contracts (which i think they will likely start doing).

Also worth noting that if they get a 3 year deal worth 300 million he's only out 35 mill in total, which is kinda crazy with how much they spend. The problem is gonna be if the talent cost goes up and they can't secure a deal in the next 3 years after this next one. They'll be fine for 5 years but you have got to play the long game.

His company could be bigger than WWE by a thousandfold, but he's trying too hard to be just like them. People became invested in AEW when it first surfaced because people were craving an alternative to WWE, but now that they've become like WWE, the ratings are dropping, and he wonders why. I think a wrestler like "The British Bulldog" Harry Smith would be a smart business decision having him come to AEW, but Tony hasn't pulled the trigger on someone like him, and he needs a huge guy who can legitimately wrestle and use mat technique hold for hold. Harry is one of, if not the most skilled wrestlers in the world, for him to be as big as he is and to move like a lightweight would be able to, it's amazing. Not to mention, he's probably one of the physically strongest wrestlers in the world.

the biggest problem with aew is they got bigger than they actually are in terms of who they are able to employ, this is primarily down to having a wealthy owner rather than being built from the ground up,originally when they began it was new and fresh working with relatively unknown talent that were being introduced to the larger wrestling audience, jericho was the recognised name that helped get eyes on this new company, fast forward to now and we have pretty much a stacked roster and the product is essentially a wcw copy and paste rather than the same ideology that they began with!

Wow that 2019 interview didn't age well at all lol but the Khans are made of money. I read that Tony's dad made more money last year and is now worth over $12 Billion. I'm sure they'll be alright. We need AEW to stay and give WWE competition. Plus its a great time to be a wrestler to get work and get paid. Wrestling fans win too with both companies around

It’s wild because he just doesn’t fucking care about money. Ted Turner was a businessman, he had other companies with shareholders and boards and was negotiating deals and mergers. Tony is a 41 year old single son of a billionaire, who has “jobs” “running” teams and a wrestling company but had no idea how to do either. But it doesn’t matter because AEW can lost 34 million a year every year for its entire existence and internet marks and Tony on his troll Twitter accounts can praise every single thing they do. Which is wild because even serious WWE fans can say “this angle sucked. This push was meaningless, this person can’t work, this match was trash” but for AEW they literally can’t. They can have the most meaningless match with two people nobody watching on tv would know full of bitches and you go on Twitter and they are putting it over so hard. Because it doesn’t matter. None of this matters.

TK signed ever dog water ex WWE star he could. He completely ruined AEW. He has hired everyone he liked and it killed them. Their ratings are terrible. They start out well due to the Big Bang run off then die. And when ex WWE trash stars like Mone appear on TV the shows hits all time low numbers. They are lucky to hit 700k people. TK should fire the ex WWE trash, step away and let some else run the show. The fact that Mone makes 3 million a year as a botch queen blows my mind. She can't wrestle. She can't do promos. What a waste of money.

Mone can do promos as a heel that’s always been her strong suit but she’s definitely not worth the money she’s getting hence why the WWE likely left the table when Khan outbid them probably.
