That looks like a fantastic track to drive, I am jealous. Great driving too, you can see the clear improvement from lap to lap as you get used to the track. Also great camera placement in the car. Enjoyable vid 👍.

I need to get another track day booked in the little Cup, have done brands but thinking Snetterton 300 although the Clio may lack the straight line pace

Nice, I had some tuition, when I did my track day at Cadwell in the 172Cup, suggested using just third, and fourth gears, and even when flat out, it doesn’t redline. You should be able to take Coppice flat out without braking in 4th and I was on Rainsports

Thanks Justin, agree tuition would of seen for much cleaner/faster laps but I still had a great time 😅 Coppice and the gooseneck were two corners I was struggling to find my comfort with the car in terms of entry speed but for my first time at Cadwell and on track in the Clio I was really happy with the day - good reason to go back for more practice 😬 The other thing to add is the RS2 intake makes peak BHP at the redline so feels wonderful screaming all the way there (stock Clio peak power is around 6,600rpm so no benefit in hanging the gears)

@@stoneautomotive can’t recommend the instruction enough. It was my first visit and outing also. After the 20 mins instruction I was flat in 4th into Coppice and Gooseneck, turning into Goose early and let the car wash across the track, before braking. It’s a hold on tight set of bends but epic when you don’t lift. Killed my rainsports by the end of the day. Hadn’t got round to changing in time what with other work car needed. Didn’t help snapping an injector night before whilst removing stubborn oil filter, meaning dash to ECP just before they closed for a replacement. Conclusions after my first track day where I needed better tyres, gear shifter as current is in precise, smaller steering wheel and snugger seats. Best fun in a car for ages.

P.s good driving - could see you getting quicker and quicker

Thanks, was getting properly into it then remembered I also needed to drive home so calmed back down in the afternoon 😅 some tuition would have certainly been beneficial but was really happy to just be blasting around

Great vid Sighting laps make it sound like a little V8 🤣 Renault sport clips are great, had a handful myself, the saying 'they always come back' once you moved on is true. Hard to beat for the money

Great video and nice to see you having fun on track with the Cup! did you have a mic in the engine bay or was that just the sound in the cabin? it sounded awesome. Did you manage to clean the wheels up or is a refurb needed?

Thanks mate, proper enjoyed it and made all the work building the Cup well worth it although a few niggles to address when it’s next out on track! A little bit of audio magic, think it really improves the enjoyment of watching the videos (hopefully you all agree) but as you can hear from fly by’s in the past videos it’s not artificial, it does make that sound 😍 Wheels not looking so great even after the wheel cleaner, been advised to try a fall out remover wheel cleaner so will try that next 👍

Your missus is brave, there's no way my wife would do a lap with me 🙂 It's bad enough going to the shops 🙂

Thanks Duncan & glad you enjoyed 😎 Yea watch Danny DC2, can peddle a car especially round Cadwell! The sun strip was painted internally with plasti-dip around 3 years ago as I simply masked the screen internally than sparayed away, the idea was that if I got the height wrong I could easy scrap away until I was happy, sadly it’s started to go odd so time for a proper piece of vinyl to go on next

Hi, Full details on the Clio “playlist” but the below was the final tuning on the engine kzread.info/dash/bejne/YoCAm8eTksLRp7g.html Engine : JMS RS2 intake manifold, group N camshaft timing, custom intake (detailed in the playlist series) decat & full 2.5 inch cat back exhaust all finished off with a custom ecu calibration at Engine dynamics

Two lads from Leeds each had Clio’s and each has loads and loads of fun! My supercharged E36 318is expired on the third lap🥲 O well . This was on a visit to the Nordschleife on a Track day gutted!
