I'm not a native English speaker so this version is much better for me because I can actually understand what he's saying without the need for lyrics and the lyrics are what makes this song special so yes that version is pleasing for the ears but this is a brain orgasm :)

Absolutely the same. Me and my sis annoyed our parents by reciting this song over and over again, haha. Just love songs that have deep lyrics. Now we both have the T-shirt with these exact words printed on them and went to the Big Push concert in Manchester. Whole family is eagerly awaiting every new release by now.

First time hearing Money Game. The acapella and spoken word is so much like Slam poetry and fantastic. As I was listening, the message and sensibilites somehow really reminded me of the artist, Banksy.

I like the choice here to use no instruments at all. The sound of the waves breaking is there and reminds us to listen to nature more. This is an important song and this version forces listeners to pay attention to the lyrics. I haven't found a song yet by Ren that is bereft of any message at all. In some Ren songs the message is the song, but in others it takes a back seat to allow us to have fun with the music and lyrics. Ren is so wise beyond his years; I think I understand the price he's paid and continues to pay for coming to his wisdom so young. I stand in awe of his social conscious as well as his talent and skill. Thanks for speaking to my spirit, Ren. You do indeed shine so bright for all to see; and you bring illumination to the "black dog" part of my subconscious.

I'm an old chick. I always loved independent artists. I am thrilled with the pure art and talent, not tainted by the mainstream media, that I have been able to access on-line. I pray that the independent artists will crumple the walls of the music industry cathedrals so that we can hear, love, or hate what the artists want to put out there, and stop being spoon fed and told what we are supposed to like. That DJ,s start pushing music on air because of talent and not promotions. As a child of the seventies, I would be heartbroken by the great music that I would have never heard if the music industry was then as it is now.

I still believe that you are one of the most talented artists around right now. Keep doing what you're doing ren :)

I’m studying songwriting in college, and in a few of our classes we talk about lyrics a lot. You’ve consistently been one of my absolute favourite lyricists out there. I think at the start of the next academic year we’re going to be doing this thing in one of our classes like, one student puts forward an album, and everyone goes home and listens to it over the course of the week, and in the next class that next week we discuss the album, and then the next student suggests an album. When it’s my turn, I’ve already decided I’m recommending Demos Vol.1. I could use Abby of your eps/albums but I think it’s this song in particular that makes me choose that one. I might try to sneak in Money Game part 1 too though, since it’s shorter than a full length albums and the songs are connected aha. Absolutely adore your work my friend. Never cease to inspire me in my own writing

That's a band that performs nothing but other bands songs. It's all good. However, he does an amazing cover of Bob Marley's I Shot the Sheriff.

Just when I think I couldn't love/appreciate Ren more, I find another Ren release I had missed. Many have said they want to see Ren on tour - I NEVER want to see Ren on tour. I want to know Ren is out there letting that creative mind of his run free like the curious child that lives in the heart of Ren. And then he writes poems set to the music of the adventures he's had and I have them with some fine wine and a cheddar cheese. I never want to see Ren in a traveling circus show like a Barnum & Bailey curiosity. Also, I really wish the world would stop dropping bombs on their fellow humans but apparently that's a big ask these days. And really, when you think about it, that Amazon forest is just an overgrown patch of weeds whose commodity has yet to be realized. #ThisOleMoneyGame
