Remz HR 2.5 Aggressive Inline Skate // Review

Спорт

These are the Remz HR 2.5. They retail for around $250 US for Boot Only. They feature a combination hard shell with soft skin giving them a very unique look. The soul plates are nice and wide with a replaceable backslide plate.

this is muy 1st UFS skate after 8yrs of no skating..I began 25yrs ago with roces and many others...fattys 1st gen. being my best favs... I saw all your reviews from beginning and my decision was...u have the fortune of trying many models and choosing the best FOR YOUR COMFORT but you is you and no one else...so i chose the 2.5 last Nov and they are the best skates I ever had...like I always said when the 1st model...I was so stunned with design...to me it was like extraterrestrial tech applied to fattys...and they are...I'm so happy and not changing anytime soon...YOU IS YOU AND NOT ME..cheers

best front, back royale and farv i have seen you do. Was really on money!!! it is a shame that such a great grinder boot is let down by a strange anatomical design. let's hope they can fix it in the next 18-24 months before the next release

That smashed pinky toe issue has been a problem for a while now. The HR2.0 had the exact same problem. It's a shame. Remz used to be the most natural feeling skate out there! You can try aftermarket liners, but you'll need to stick with something fairly narrow in order to fit the boot. Reign v3 liners seem to work well and I'm currently running a MyFit Crown liner in a modified HR2.0 and it seems to be working well, although I did have to do some cutting inside the skate in order to make them fit. I'm enjoying your videos immensely, by the way. I'm in my early 40s and have been trying to get back to blading myself over the past few years, and you're definitely an inspiration to stick with it!

in 2010, I and most of my friends would have the M12 or something similar. A few guys had the (then much more expensive) Remz. They. Looked. Cool. Really cool. BUT they were floppy, your ankles had to do all the work, 0 support from the cuff, and yep, you are always in a "topside" position, even when rolling. With the Remz 2.0 or some like 5 years ago, they "fixed" this issue. But it's still here. You can only imagine how bad it was. fun fact: there was a craze with ppl skating remz cuffLESS. this, I've never tried. I've broken my heel, so now I'll get the eugen enin shadows. I used to have the xsjado farmer 3, and worked great for me, but are too worn out now.

Your first impressions video on these skates made me decide to go a different route and buy the GAWDS skates. So far I'm not regretting my decision.

I have suspicion you are doing your royals switch side. I was doing same thing because rotation felt more natural but then i figured that my stronger foot should be in same position as if I did for example backslide.

IIRC, you own a skate store? I really respect your honesty in this review. In reviews from other store owners, I'll sometimes get the impression that they don't like a product, but they don't want to go as far as saying it because they've got to sell it 😃

remz us8 0701 The toe width is one index finger longer than us9 2.0 & 2.5 New improvements shrink the toe cap So you can’t buy the same size as before But must be one size larger

I came back to blading and I always wanted to own a pair of remz skates, but I ended up very disappointed : size 11 felt like size 9, then I got size 13, that felt like size 10 then I gave up, these skates are very heavy with Flt3 antirocker setup they are the heaviest at around 1 lbs each (2320grams) and the liner wiggles in the shell. Wanted to love these skates, but it didn't happen.

I feel that anybody above a size 9 in remz seems to have issues with their feet/pinky toe hurting. I used to have to position my feet and tie my laces perfectly for them to not hurt, but even then it never lasted long. I wore a size 11 but my brother had a size 9 and although my toes were cramped in his skates, the sides of my feet felt fine. I feel as though they get too slim in bigger sizes. Idk though lol

So would you say the remz are close to width like the razor genesys? I'm looking for different boot options but having wide feet it's hard to find anything at all.

  • @BacktoBlading

Too bad the Remz didn’t fit you because style wise your grinds looked amazing. I was getting a sixth toe issue with my Sebas but they broke in after a few sessions and I can’t fit into PowerSlide shells so it is understandable that different feet require different boots.

I got a size bigger just in case...I cut the excess material on the liner, tried them with Intuition...THEY HURT They are solid skates, feel great, a bit heavy but my right foot hurts, all the time no matter what liner and also being a bigger size I thought it'd be great.NOPE Definitely not a skate for me. I'll stick to my Aeons...anyone wants Remz HR 2.5? edit: I'm done try ing skates, I'll just get a pair of Adapt and stick to those

Ive never been a fan of the remz, always felt they looked unnecessary bulky. Also had a friend who insisted they are "the best" who couldn't skate in them for more than a half-hour. I think people who are a fan off remz will either put up with the discomfort or mod them to death trying to mitigate it

I feel like Remz get a lot of bad press and I never got it. I think they fit incredibly well and they're definitely my comfiest skate. I had to of course change the stock liner cuz they're absolute trash, but with that they're amazing. Laced up as tight as they can go they offer me great support and I can get topside with the flex without the pain of a cuff digging in like I get with say the USD Carbon. And and you discovered they grind incredibly well, the heel lock is especially awesome for rails! I'm sad to see they didn't work out for Law and many others, it's such a shame that everyone can't get the same experience I have with them.

Pause @ 2:08-2:09...or better yet 2:31 in slo-mo. This is what folks often point out. Do you not see that? First of all, you referenced AO porn & soul. Alley-oop & Zero grinds are completely 2 different things. Rolling fakie, jumping & grinding the direction you're already going prior to jumping is not the same thing as going forward, jumping 180° & grinding the opposite the direction you were initially going. That's a completely different skill set.
