I load the 230 XTP with 8gr of power pistol. Velocity is right at 1000fps with good accuracy. Shot out of a Kimber custom II. Enjoy the late back approach in your videos.

I've never used Silhouette but maybe it's one that likes being on the upper end. Power Pistol is looking good 👍

Silhouette works best in hot loads. I find it leave a lot of residue if it's not.

Nice video just found you because I’m loading that same projectile, but I’ll be using hodgdon titegroup and windchester primers only primers I could find.

I've also had some variance with Silhouette in my Kimber Ultra Carry II. About 750fps is where I end up most times. What would you think is the average velocity for 3" 1911 barrels? Thanks for showing, sir.

All of my .45 ACPs are 5" but I did some quick checking on some load data and websites. It varies a lot by load, but 3" barrels shooting 185s lose about 3% to 10% compared to 5" barrels. So 185s from a 3" are going 870fps to 1030fps(P+). Hey, thanks for the question and watching!
