    I've been working on healing my suffering and my awakening since I was in my early teens. I'm 60 now. From 1980s to 2004 I was a drug addict. I was using crack cocaine from 1998 to Christmas Eve 2004. In early 2004, I lived in Vancouver and I saw Eckhart's video of talking to a man on a park bench near the planetarium in Vancouver, one of my favorite spots. Everything Eckhart said made perfect sense to me. Soon after I moved to Alberta and left everyone I knew behind. I was starting my journey of healing the addictions and trauma. I've been alone in my journey for 18 years now and I have 19 years clean. I have done a ton of spiritual work over these years but once again it's Eckhart that has put it all together and made sense of the things I didn't quite get over the years. Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    yep, egos run amok, trying to re-infect each other... and the peace that Tolle Iives and breathes, you can see/feel it in his being that he is not afraid. and that's not some airy-fairy kind of thing, there's a power in his acceptance & surrender, there is the heart & strength of a lion in there, ya?

    @@mindsigh4 yes, it seems the strongest ego’s bond with fear and negative energies, sometimes it manifests as a victim ego or sometimes something far more drastic for all. But, fear is clearly a favoured tool of the ego in the forming of an identity, rather than positive braveness, for instance. Negativity seems to have far more strength, that’s why highly identified people often have issues and many enemies, i realised not long ago they must actually have enemies, for they are formed as distinct from others, so easy pickings is constant blame on others, constant queue of enemies to blame, which in turn defines and strengthens the ego structure.

    Only ego sees ego! If you have it you will see it outside! All those people in the news also brahman itself. How come they can not be brahman/god/source? You labeled them egoic because you are not awakened yet. For fully enlightened one there is no ego outside. All is one, one is all. So are you saying those egoic people on the news are not God/brahman so then god must be less than those people just because they are egoic❤🤗🙏

    Bro, sorry to tell you this but there is no progress in awakening!!! Either you know what you are or not! If you are seeking you will never find because you are what you are seeking! You are knocking the door inside and expecting one day someone will open it for you but it will never happen. In this very moment you are already enlightened. Just because time is an illusion, there is no future to become anything. If you think "you are" seeking enlightened then it will take you many many lifetimes to find it. There's no "you" to be enlightened. There's only ONE. You can call it brahman/god/allah/source doesn't matter. And if there is only one thing and if everything is that one thing "how can you not be it?" How can you not god right here right now? Who are you to think that you are separate from God! Are you saying that there are two gods and you as a God looking for the other god and when you find it you will call yourself awakend! For the fully awake person there's no ego! Because if there is only brahman then how can one not be brahman but egoic! That's your illusion to think that you are an egoic being that's why you are not awakened. You already are what you are looking for🤗❤🙏

    We all need to continue practicing, regardless of where we are. One foot in front of the other. And listening closely. It's the simple things that keep us present. When we do become unconscious, and blame another, or the even the weather, it is an opportunity to witness the ego...."Ah, there it is, it took control of me, but that is not me" Its wonderful when we have moments when we realise that we are not our thoughts, its almost as if we are a part of nature?

    Anyone who doesn't feel superior to others is awakened to the reality that they are not superior to anyone else, just a little more fortunate than some others in this one area. For me the ego is like your diet, not enough food is unhealthy as is way to much food, its all about ballance. Being aware of of our weight and when we have put on or lost a little to much is the key to keeping in the healthy weight zone and its no different with the ego, occasionally we all allow our ego to be little over inflated and other times little under inflated but on a scale of 0 to 100 and 50/50 being ideal try if you become aware of yourself going above 60 or below 40 then you need to keep an eye on your ego. That's just my observation and opinion of course 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Lately feel alot of sadness, maybe it's lonliness, but not so much for company, think it's more a feeling of dieing even though I am not dieing. Stopped smoking a few weeks ago after 45 or 46 years of smoking, cry alot about nothing but just let it flow. Love listening to that video on school of awakening from a yr ago especially about the nature part, turn the speed to 75, put on the headphones and walk up the road and take it all in, its very beautiful. My book is now available in Amazon "ON THE EVOLUTION FROM THE PRIMITIVE EGOIC MIND BY MEANS OF PURE CONSCIOUSNESS" by Victor Berrios

    I was deeply humbled by my ego yesterday. I had been operating in a fairly open and aware way, but ego was slipping in (in hindsight, unfortunately). I left a social interaction feeling nearly worthless. Karma has a way of showing us exactly what we need to see, sometimes it takes the form of intense suffering and self hatred. It has been quite interesting to see the half-life of these egoic patterns shrinking over time, but I can confidently answer the question of "have I already had my spiritual awakening??" with "no". Delusions truly are inexhaustible

    When Eckhart said, the world desperately needs spiritual teachers, I was surprised to hear that from him. I think there are too many people who rely on psychotherapists, gurus, spiritual teachers, religious authority figures. Actually, the world doesn't desperately need anything. It is perfect as it is. The world is a reflection of you. As you change your choices, the world changes correspondingly. It's essential to draw from the inexhaustible well of wisdom within oneself. Albeit delightful to listen to individuals who are insightful and wise, or to muse over their writings, it's indispensable and vital to realize that spiritual guidance ultimately comes from within.

    fortunately he did not say that, exactly - I heard him say, the world needs more awakened people. Probably we all want people to look to for help and guidance as we suffer with our fears, I don't blame anyone for that, especially since here I am.... but I feel there are far too many people who cash in on this without being anything like awakened themselves.

    There is nothing wrong with more spiritual teachers, there are too few real ones from what he's pointing out. Although it can come from within, a helping pointer is always much appreciated, most people stumble in the dark, why not work together? Eckhart, Osho, Sadhguru have been incredible sources which without, I would have never understood these teachings, let alone care to dive into practice.

    Now that I experience the kind of bliss I can only explain as a nostalgic feeling I used to have about childhood, I can feel a rift between me and wife of 22 years, for the first time. I don't want to cause her discomfort. She has started watching very angry women (understandable) speaking about the new supreme court ruling, or non-ruling. I believe this will attract anger to her. I don't dare say anything, the mocking of my aversion to violence and anger started recently so when I try to relay what I have learned, how to lessen suffering, it is not received in the manner I intend. I am not asking any questions; I am only relating what I am experiencing at this moment. You are my hero!!! Namaste Master Tolle.

    From what I have read, it's possible you act and talk from Fear of the Anger and the possibility that may arise in your mind where that Anger in your wife may lead to. It's possible that she doesn't receive your message because there is an underlying non-acceptance of her Anger which she subconsciously receives and then rejects/ or defends. When you defend yourself because you're fearful of where that anger may lead to, combined with this inner perceived rift between you and your wife. There is already a created inner battle between the two of you. Don't try to 'Fix' her because you Think she has to get something of 'your' knowledge. Rather Be with her completely and accept that this kind of news is uncomfortable for her to hear. That way you create a safe space to let these emotions arise and let them go. So you two can just BE together instead of you, who has a feeling that something HAS to be received. In that way she FEELS she isn't truly listened to. Much love and I wish you two much happiness together!

    @@Varryify Wouldn't you naturally not want to receive that anger if it feels like it's being projected on to you? Or do you have to allow their anger as part of your enviornment? It gets tricky in marriages and family who want to implicate you through their perceptions of you as part of the problem, yes?

  • @Varryify

    @Varryify

    @@lynnhall9957 From my own experiences I have noticed in very big fights with my mother regarding the divorce of my parents that the biggest aggravator is taking the Anger of another person personally. (in my particular case, my mother's) I felt the need to help/fix her because her Anger seemed directed towards me and it made me feel helpless that nothing I said worked which resulted in me being Angry with her. The thing is, although her Anger was projected at me, it had nothing to do with me, but more with her incredible feeling of sadness and loss which made her lash out. Unconsciously I thought she was putting the blame on me, which I instantaneously directed back at her. After a lot of years of reflection and accepting my own emotions I finally understood that she just needed space and compassion for what she was going through because I thought I knew it all and I could just say some quick words to make her feel better. It's indeed not easy being in an environment that seems hostile, but if you don't react with your emotions and instead give each other space and love to feel what you feel then these emotions ultimately will subside and it will be easier to look at any given situation for what it is. It takes great patience and compassion for yourself and the other person. I didn't want to help her because I wanted her Anger to stop but because I Love her. So each time you get in a situation where you want to help you can look inwards and see if you're trying to help from a place of negative emotions or from a true place of Love and Compassion. This makes a great difference in whether you'll stay patient and accepting or if you'll get feelings of resentment because your 'helping' didn't work out the way you wanted.

    @@VarryifyThank you for your time. I will let these words sink in! Especially this. I think it’s quite amusing to see people bickering about what being awakened means (especially on this particular video). It’s a long journey. When you’ve had decades of conditioning, that’s who you truly believe you are. My ego is still trigger happy. Yes, the awareness that the ego has taken the wheel is there, but when I am so entrenched in default narratives, it’s hard to shake free. Hindsight helps, of course. It just feels a little frustrating at times, because you want to feel like you’ve actually learnt something. Yeah, there’s the ego popping up again. That feeling of wanting to be right runs parallel with feeling superior. It makes us feel safe. It’s probably evolutionary and helped saves our lives when we lived in caves. The important thing is that we keep it in check. Awareness and acceptance are the keys.
