Next step is being aware of the ego which wants to watch the thought flow. And Witnessing the judgement that some things shouldn't affect you. Also Witnessing the ego which wants to liberate you, to save you. Witnessing with a "Thank you", "Love u" to nobody in particular brings some fun to the process. Good luck.

  • @onreact

Don't "hope" for "one day" to "achieve" "happiness" for "myself". That's still ego talking. Be happy now or you will never be happy. Hope implies the future (thus imagination and wishful thinking). One day means later or rather never, It's postponing something indefinitely. Achieving means struggle and an uphill battle. Have you ever been happy while struggling? Happiness is something that is over emphasized in our culture. It's better to be present instead then joy will arise naturally. Why do you want happiness just for "yourself"?

In the state of presence you do not think. When he pauses, he anchors into the state of stillness within himself, and then when he speaks the words flow through him, bringing more power, and creativity into the present moment. The Awakened consciousness is who he is. A lot of people are awakening to there own consciousness. Unveiling ones true essence is a liberation. The main reason for life, the consciousness in life to awaken to itself.

Ego is there for us to evolve. I used to resent my ego but then my awareness is aware of my ego. That means ego is also created by awareness (I am). My ego is also myself, I learn to accept ego for it to help me evolve myself as a catalyst. I am not my pyshical body, not my subtle body, and not my causal body. But ego is there for me to evolve. The most important thing is to know which is based on ego or based on I am

@@lorrainew7529 We are Absolute or some called God. We are God who intentionally created duality (ego included) to know how is it like to experience both negative (service to self) and positive (service to others). Both are acceptable as without one or the other, God doesn't know what it is like to be positive or negative. God is both perfect and imperfect. God is imperfect since God doesn't know how it feels to be imperfect. That is why God created catalysts (including Ego) to create sense of duality. We are all one from God, for God to experience different kind of perspectives. Purpose of life is for us to finally know who we are (Oneness), and to balance love and light (love and wisdom).

Over the past few months, usually while I'm driving around with someone in the car, I will have a negative memory followed quickly by a negative thought. I now simply take a breath, smile, and say something positive such as, "Gee, isn't it a lovely day." The person in the car knows nothing of the choice I made, to be positive rather than give in to the negative - choosing to be 'present' at that exact moment, marvelling at how beautiful the day is. Smiling also helps the brain chemistry, I read somewhere. It works for me anyway - along with the mantra first told me in 2005: "I choose to think positive thoughts."

If we are ever going to survive on this planet, we have to keep our egos in check. Presence is needed. Don't forget to mark a special day on your calendar: World Ego Awareness Day (WEAD) is on May 11th of this year, Namaste.

My understanding of the ego is a tool of the consciousness to express itself in its true unadulterated state to direct a flow of ideas, words, or actions that occur spontaneously in the moment, when the timing is perfect for them to serve good purpose, predominantly without preconception, although some times of course it is necessary to be prepared with an artistic or communication medium if one is required for the production of form. So, first we need to get our mind or ourselves out of the way, because reality is, we are all just tools really hahaha!

God, how I wish, all those diagnosed with mental health issues could listen to Eckhart, before the counsellors and psychiatrists fill them full of heavy-duty sedatives and give them a false identity.

There are plenty of unfortunate people who try to foist themselves off as enlightened masters while really being barely conscious; however, it is also true that "the way that can be described is not the true way". It's interesting that neither Socrates nor the Buddha wrote things down, though they had disciples who did and of course there is obviously the penultimate example from the West which need not be added. So while the finger pointing is helpful to a certain extent, eventually one must look at the moon.

I noticed the ego patterns in daughter s behavior paranoic when it took her over. It posseses the person completely and the person doesnt hear you at all and make stories about yes. She told me that she knew that CIA follows her in the bus even, at that time she was a student in one of the ART Academy. So Eckhart tells us true. How come that ego is coming so strong I ask myself? And in my case of the daughter didnt end good at all....

I feel the same way a lot. But as Eckhart states at the beginning, that just means you are not yet fully conscious/aware, and that's okay. How you are now is simply a reflection of your current state of consciousness. You have the key to the prison if you have read Eckhart Tolle's teachings. I've never read anyone who understands the workings of the dysfunctional human brain/ego better than him. We all have that same dysfunction in differing degrees. "My life feels like a failure" is certainly the voice of the ego, not Your voice.
