Proof that the SNES era had amazing music. -Castlevania and Super Metroid did amazing with the ambiance and horror elements in their music. -Chrono Trigger and Starfox gave a sense of adventure and excitement in their tunes. -Mario had simple but really amazing music. Same with his friend Yoshi. -Final Fantasy emersed us in a world of fantasy and magic, with their renaissance music. -Donkey Kong had the tribal and tropical themes of the jungles And finally, Earthbound showed Adventure, Friendship and childhood in their music. And how we need to grow up some day.

Chrono trigger's soundtrack is complex AF, A lot of the songs on the soundtrack don't even use traditional harmony, instead they use weeeird tricks to make everything harmonious even if the chords dont lead anywhere

In my eyes, there is no piece of media better than Mother. This trilogy has great gameplay and mechanics (with the exception of the frustration inducing first game), amazing story and pacing, memorable characters (even if some of them do come off as flat), off the charts humor, and serious emotion from the incredible soundscores and storytelling that occasionally made me actually cry.

Mother 3 definitely got me. I love the Mother series and regularly replay Earthbound (about a yearly basis)... but I avoid Mother 3 because breaking into sobbing at the end is just something I know is coming every time. Last time I ran it I was in a room full of grown men, doing everything in my power to (successfully, thank god) hold back my tears. I don't think games touch down on the concept of love quite like Mother does. It somehow manages to be this humble, 16-bit TBRPG and it commands so much attention to the broad array of emotions love can, and does bring. The simple and unassuming interface and gameplay belie a story about what love is, what it can be, what it does to people. And then there's Porky.

In Earthbound, a young boy and his friends are tasked with defending the planet, and possibly the galaxy, from being destroyed by the evil Giygas. They travel through many lands, and through time, to eventually dive deep into the womb of a Mother's child-bearing organs to defeat the evil being in utero. In theory, this should be too much for a young, baseball loving kid to take. But he has no choice. And so he has to move forward, despite the terrors brought by new lands and new faces. But what keeps him going? Fundamentally, it is his friends, his Father, and his Mother. Without friends, he cannot be revived in time to recover from a mortal wound, or ever hope to defeat his enemies. Without his Father, he would have no one to record where he has been, and where he is going. And if he doesnt talk to his Mother once in a while, he will suffer further peril while standing up to his foes, distracted even in the face of mortal danger. I'm 24 now, and my view of life is very different to how i saw it even a year ago. And i see it in the eyes of my friends too. They may barely comprehend it, but they help me take on life when i feel that i cant handle it. And my Father makes sure i know where I'm going, and how my life and career will move me forward. And though i don't get to see my Mother often, she sends me short messages online to keep up with how i am doing. We are not literally travelling through time to defeat an evil tyrant found in the womb of an incomprehendable entity. But surely we all feel an impossible, terrifying task has been placed on our shoulders? Sometimes we may think we can move forward without our Father, Mother, or friends, but are we really able to take on the obstacles of life without them, or at least, without the spirit of them? Life feels like it sucks right now. But i listen to this music, and i think of the people i love, and it fills me with a feeling that everything is going to be ok. And soon, it will turn into Determination.

The Universal phrase in the fandom "No crying until the end" really holds up. I still tear up every time i think about the Mother series

With all of these Nintendo soundtracks being taken down across KZread, I wanted to write to whoever uploaded this to say thank you for uploading this. I've been using this very video as study music since 2019 and it's brought me a lot of peace, all since my first year of secondary/high school. I'm nearly finished school, and am about to go into to the real world, so to speak, but this video has helped me throughout it. I owe the times I did well in a exam to this video, for multiple cases. If this is taken down, then I'm glad I left this comment thanking you, at least.

My grand father just passed away and this is what I'm listening to. Because he is the reason I love gaming so much, the day he gave me this game after he had played it changed my life as a kid. Many more RPGs played after this, it was the beginning of a passion, Gaming.

Playing this at my work, a Chinese restaurant. Everyone looks so contemplative, I love it.

It's incredible: I've only finished EarthBound and i'm crazy to play Mother 1 and 3, and yet when i hear the songs from both games i haven't played, especially from Mother 3's tracks, i get this mixed sense of deja vu + nostalgia: Like i heard that before, and it fills something inside of me with hapiness that i can't quite describe, just... cry

I really like how this doesn’t spoil some of the most emotional and relaxing Mother 3 songs near the end game.

This is one of those games that makes me nostalgic for a time that I wasn’t even alive during.

Played this in the 90's and multiple times since and all I can say if this game isn't art, and doesn't move you, nothing will. Earthbound is pure bliss, thank your Shigesato Itoi and Satoru Iwata (RIP) for your time, energy and care bringing this story to life

In 2019, I was 11 and discovered earthbound, its been my favourite series of games ever since. When I was 9 I got diagnosed with depression and I spent 2 years suffering until I found earthbound, since then, its been a huge help in keeping me happy, I still struggle with depression right now as a 14 year old but I'm greatful for having a game like this help me through tough times

The first 2 tracks feel bittersweet happiness and nostalgia. Life might be nice when you grow up, but I miss playing games all day with my best friend, not a worry in the world. We were so clueless.

I never thought a game could have so much charm. Thank you for all the memories Earthbound.

This video reminds me of the pandemic, I remember getting up very early when the sun was rising, and since I couldn't go for a walk with my friends, I would simply climb on the roof of my house and listened to these songs

this video should calm me down. if it doesnt then ill just have to sit in silence. im sorry but i have to use this comment section as a diary entry that i hope gets lost. i cant stand the eternal sadness, as soon as i thought i was getting better it pulls me back in. im seeing someone new but i have to say goodbye to a friend, life cant be constant ups. something or someone will come along and drag it all down and its okay, i learned to be okay with being sad. this new person likes me very much but she also is a lost soul. saying goodbye to my friend for one last time will set me back all my progress that i worked on for myself. learning to say goodbye to someone should be easy at this point but im not sure if goodbyes ever get any easier. as i have beautiful mother music in the background i finish the art piece i promised my friend so she can take it with her. i wish her the best of luck where ever life takes her and i hope i can one day learn to feel content with life again. not for me but for future relationships that may spring up soon, its important for me to accept what i lost but also what im gaining. as i start a new chapter of my life with a new person, it sadly has to start with a "goodbye my friend" but it continues with a "hello new lover". theres hope in sadness remember that.

Earthbound just puts a smile on my face with it's cute and wacky style, and goofy but clever comedy that's seriously reminiscent of Undertale's. The whole game has a mysterious, bittersweet, nostalgic vibe to it that i cant quite put into words. There is also so much maternal love in this game that is just so contagious. Earthbound makes me want to hug my mom despite our differences. I wish everyone could experience Earthbound the way I have. It was so simple, yet so surreal and thought-provoking, like I could just feel that there was so much more beneath the surface. Truly beautiful game. So sad how underrated it is :(

Snowman in EarthBound’s soundfont is one of the most quintessential songs of my childhood.

tessie! is an absolute tune and it is underrated

i love these songs so much, makes me feel really happy and tingly inside, shivers even. i haven't heard a game soundtrack that makes me feel like this, 10/10 you can tell with each song what place or mood it tells, especially summers. just screams beautiful summer resort. thats only an example. they are all incredible

So mellow, but some of these tracks are so melancholy. Visiting the retirement home and seeing it falling apart is so sad.

I introduced my kids to SNES this year. I thought they would think Earthbound was weird. But they love it just as much as I do, if not more. I'm playing through it again (3rd time since playing it in 96), and my son is playing through for the first time.

Today, April 9th, 2022. I Finally finished this game, this Super Nintendo Classic. This is definitely one of the best games ever made, even if it’s a little clunky. (It’s nothing compared to the first) This game is special to me, this game is something truly remarkable. My love for this series will never die. Edit: It has been 4 Months since I beat Mother 2. I have now finished the first and third games as well, and you can call me a pretty big fan of the series. I hope these games are eternal.
