To everyone who's studying with this music: Checklist: • A bottle of water, at least 1 liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate💧 • Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time🔋 • Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones, because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late night study session, you won't wake up anyone 🎧 • A tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well. Herbal rocks, too! ☕ • Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/phone, a few pens, paper or whatever you need.⌨ •Anything else you could need, what about a heat pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐈 Reminder : After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me. You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. I have no idea why but all of the relaxing/calming music in Undertale and Deltarune puts me on edge more than any other music in the games. I think it’s just my paranoia but I get goosebumps, like I’m being drawn into a false sense of security or just uncomfortable.

Hmm, perhaps it has to do with the instruments used? A lot of these tunes use instruments like Super Nintendo soundfonts and free orchestral VSTs. Maybe it’s the compressed quality, that kinda recognizeable but not “real” feelinf of those old 90’s VGM-type instruments that pushes it over the edge for you.

Like when you are in Toriel’s house while she is reading that book at the start of Undertale, I felt like she was making a facade. It’s the same in Deltarune, that castle theme towards the end of chapter 2 gives me the creeps. None of it feels right, like it’s fake.

@@nomadwhy1166 Yeah, if you compare it to the Deltarune equivalent, “You can always come home”, that one has a much more steady and pleasant sound. Meanwhile Undertale’s home fits perfectly for Toriel’s position - Welcoming, melancholy, but also hiding some dark secrets.

“It’s raining somewhere else” Rain can represent tears giving that a whole new meaning In the ruins a goat is crying about their lost children and the fact that they weren’t able to protect any of their children In Snowdin many monsters cry (I can’t think of anything else for snowdin lol) In waterfall. (What do I put here lol) In a lab there is a lizard crying about their past mistakes and how they could of done better (Skipping core because I forgot if restaurant moment is before or after mettaton fight) In new home a king Is crying over the loss of his children and what he must do to free the rest of the monsters But you aren’t crying, and sans isn’t it’s metaphorically raining somewhere else

The restaurant is before the Mettaton fight. I’d say for waterfall, we see the tablets where the monsters share their tearful history, and the lamentation of other monsters seen in the echo flowers.

For the longest time I felt like I was going insane with me thinking the OST and game versions of the music were slightly different. This video has finally answered this question that I honestly could have just Googled but :P I like the in-game version of the Shop theme in particular more than the OST version. Great video! Always glad to see someone else who appreciates the samples used on Toby’s music. Especially the Chrono Trigger ones. (I mean hey if you’re gonna sample from any OST why not the greatest one ever?)

I usually find the In-Game versions superior to the OST ones when the debate arises. The song “Reunited”, which samples from Chrono Trigger the most out of any Undertale song, is a unique case where it has two different speeds that can both be heard in game (the faster of which is on the OST). But yeah, I always love to see games like Undertale, Deltarune and OMORI sneaking some bits from the greatest soundtrack of all time in their tunes.

@@HeenaScribbles A lot of the game versions of songs are slightly slower than the OST versions. Like Reunited and Respite from Undertale, or Lantern and Before the Story from Deltarune. It’s as if Toby slightly adjusts the speed some songs play at depending on whether or not that fits the scene better.

0:00 Godammit you had to start this with Home didn't you. 3:00 Shop has always been such a cute theme to me. 3:54 That effect like warping up piano keys always sounded so cool. 4:42 It's Quiet Water what can I say? It's a beautiful mysterious, yet calm tune, perfect for Waterfall. 8:33 It's Raining Somewhere Else needs more love. It's such a chilling song for how chill it really is, when combined with hearing Sans's story about meeting Toriel. There's a nostalgic yet regretful feeling behind this song that always pulls me in. 11:24 C'mon, it's Undertale. Arguably the most beautiful song Toby has ever composed. It takes you on a heartbreaking journey through the Underground in just 6 minutes, telling you their history, and what you must do. It's perfect. 19:59 Despite the scene after, Fallen Down (Reprise) is still a comfort song for me. It's so nice to hear that transitions from the original, into that Once Upon a Time waltz. 22:30 Reunited just gets it right. It's the perfect epilogue theme, not being overbearing, but knowing just when to celebrate, while using the motifs you know and love from the start of your journey. 27:29 I used to not pay attention to Reunited, but I've grown to love its use of the Hope/An Ending motif. It lets you bask in what you truly achieved for the Underground. 32:40 Lantern is just so cool, I love how it's really a slowed down remix of Rude Buster, hinting at either Seam's past or their abilities. Also is it confirmed they use they/them pronouns? Last time I checked they're never actually referred to with any, similar to MK. 35:07 Quiet Autumn feels so much like Quiet Water in so many ways, these songs go hand in hand. 37:36 Darkness Falls is such a beautifully melancholy track, kinda sad it's not the real game over theme anymore. Though it is better than Determination, you do have to admit the songs serve very different purposes as game over themes. 38:46 A Town Called Hometown is a really nice song, but it has this stale, slightly off feeling to it at the start that I feel was entirely intentional on Toby's part. However, it does build later into the song and start feeling a lot more welcoming, so it's still a really good song too! 42:14 Honeslty not the direction I expected the menu music to go in, but it has this similar wondrous feeling to it that Lantern has, and I can't help but get into it. 38:46 Again, not a style of song I was expecting in Ch2, but it fits so well. I can't tell if that's a real piano or not but it doesn't matter, hearing the theme Toby played at the end of the 5th Anniversary Concert appear in game for your quaint little town is adorable and it really helps you feel at home. 46:44 This song isn't quite as good as Darkness Falls, but its doesn't really replace it either, and Faint Courage still does a really good job as a game over theme! 47:35 Elegant Entrance does a surprisingly good job at making Queen's theme a refined castle theme for the calmer parts. 48:52 Why is Berdly's backstory legitimately sad TOBY STOP THIS AT ONCE 49:40 How ironic that Swatch uses the same shop theme as Rouxls. 52:19 I expected Lost Girl to be used for a much more hopeless scene ever since Toby teased it, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it used in this cute scene between her and Susie. Still, it's likely not only going to be used here, so I have to wonder... 53:36 I got up and walked out of the room on stream when Berdly said he had a crush on Susie now. Noelle's reaction was extremely satisfying. 54:53 Surprised you didn't put You Can Always Come Home at the end, would've been a nice parallel to Home at the start. Still, it's really nice to listen to near the end.

Sitting in my bed at around 12:40 am, just remembering the good times that I spent with my friends and family outside, having a blast, and also just getting along with new people, it’s just so amazing how the world can truly be, so go out there and treat yourself to some nice fresh air. It’s crazy how this music makes me open up so much, it’s like I’m talking to someone while writing this, but it’s just the calm, relaxing music of Undertale and Deltarune, thanks Toby for helping me through stress in school and during family issues, we all love your masterpieces. I have the ultimate respect for Toby, his composing is so genius literally no one can best him, his songs can be rearranged and even though they sound like the characters having a stroke they’re still bangers AND some of his songs can make me want to get cosy on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate as it rains. Undertale is a place i shall forever call my old home, and still is, undertale will forever have this place in my heart where i will always love the character, no matter how stupid or how many people hate them, i love all of my characters equally, especially the ones that i've grown to love. This game is apart of my child hood anf the fact that its a story about monsters and humans is a story that i'd love to see in many yaers to come, Happy Late birthday undertale, thank for being apart of my life for so long, you'd made me into more than just a ginger that loves video games.💞

Was in for a relaxing music session but almost ended up in tears. Undertale music hits real hard. Huge respect for Toby

How does this game always make me feel so safe? Without fail. Like a little corner of the world where things will always make sense, where the most important part is always friendship and laughs. Even if the worlds aren't real, they still hold a very real, special place in my heart and I'm grateful for their existence.

I really hope Toby and the team has fun creating the rest of the game, the soundtrack is going to be HUGE

God his music is so good. One thing that’ll get me super interested in a game is its ost, and Undertale/Deltarune nails it (My Castle Town and Hip Shop are divine). Crazy to see such musical talent, and it’s really neat to see Toby working occasionally with Pokémon too. Cant wait for the rest of Deltarune to unfold and even more hyped for the absolute jams he’ll lay down for us on the journey.

Did I just sit here and watch the entire thing? Yes. Am I going to do it again? Yes. (So long as I dont fall asleep)

im coming back to this video all the time. nostalgia hits me hard every time I hear these songs. undertale have been part of my life since i was a child. now with deltarune is happening, im just so glad i am still here. its not that long ago, since i had a depression. not a big one, I was just so tired, I felt alone. for like six months I lived with these feelings, I cried almost every night. when I was with people, they couldn’t tell a difference, I tried to smile for them.. then I started watching undertale playthrough, it just came into my mind, so I did that. it was one of the best decisions in my life. I know it’s kinda cliche, but it saved my life in a certain way. there’s a huge comfort for me in this game. I felt the characters like never before. I just wish that everyone can deal with their problems like this, through something, that brings them joy. through something they love and feel save with. I can’t even describe what am I feeling when im writing this. I didn’t want to write anything about this part of my life, but I feel like im definitely not the only one. I don’t feel alone anymore. undertale brings people together. undertale gave us something, that none of the other game have… it gave us determination. determination to keep trying. determination to fight for people and thing in our lives. determination to live. thank you toby.

I don't know why but empty town is probably onw of my favorite songs in Deltarune.

Honestly agreed. And that's not just my extreme bias to Toby's Chrono Trigger soundfont speaking! Respite also makes for the perfect companion song to it

man i got here by a string of recommended videos, and now i'm tearing up looking at the comments. the fact that you started the video with Home too-- i used to (and still do) listen to Home during some really rough points in my life. it helped me get through so much. i'm eternally grateful for Undertale. my 10 year-old 2017 self is sobbing rn tbh

I listened to Home at rough times as well, so I’m very happy to see that we can share that connection to this wonderful tune

It truly is one of the best of the best

I personally like to think that Toby Fox is just constantly creating the soundtrack to my life. And for that I’m very grateful. It’s so me.

My best friend led me to check out this music...sooo glad I found it, it's great for working on projects or studying.

the first song hit me like a truck. not gonna get into the details, but i was listening to Home when i got news of the worst thing that's ever happened in the years i've been alive ever. in short, we lost a close family friend. for some reason, i think a lot of the emotions hid in that song when i didn't know. i've avoided it since the incident, and didn't expect it to be first here. i can almost see and hear my mom getting the news while the song plays.

Hip Hop Shop is a testament to Toby's talent I realize that many of his songs are good but in my opinion Hip Hop Shop just vibes constantly, there is just no competition.

That one is certainly one of my favorites. It’s Toby Fox’s best attempt at smooth, vibe-y music and I love it

the fact that music from years before can make people feel calm is oddly calming

You are wearing Knights Armor But the arrow of nostalgia hits right in the heart

there is something about the 3/4 time signature its just too good

this video is so relaxing, especially because i have a sore throat and everything hurts but the music lets me breathe deeply, i love it

Everytime I experience anything Undertale related I just sit there. In awe that a game that hits 10 in so many areas was made by one guy with a little help from Temmie Chang. Undertale and Deltarune will long stand as pinnacles of the indie community. I can't wait to see what Toby does next

I needed a new relaxing Undertale mix so when I found this one and saw there were a number of OSTs from Deltarune, I stopped the playlist halfway through to avoid music spoilers and decided it was finally time to play the game. And I'm so glad I did, thank you!

I just like to listen to this when i'am taking a nap or having a bad day to make it feel better with this calm music

Undertale affected my life in a way unexplainable. Shoutout to toby fox man

i found undertale when i was pretty young, and it and it’s music has been with me throughout most of the stages of my life. it’s almost as if it grew up w me. hearing that undertale is now 7 going on 8 is a shock to me, not only because it doesn’t feel like that much time has passed, but also because it puts into perspective how much i’ve changed since i first heard the opening notes of once upon a time. thanks for putting this playlist together, it’s soothing and wonderful to recall each one of these tracks and the scenes which they play. i’ll hold these melodies in my heart.

This remix reminds me that things can always be better with the right atitude

This compilation made me realize there’s a general area leitmotif present in Ruins and Quiet Water, I haven’t heard any songs set in Hotland or the Core so I don’t know if the leitmotif can be found there too

There’s a different area motif that runs through Waterfall/Hotland/The Core, actually. The ruins/quiet water area leitmotif is also in Spear of Justice, Respite, Battle Against a True Hero, An Ending and Don’t Give Up.

Can't wait for an updated version of this once the next few chapters come out! What, are they releasing 3, 4 & 5? Or is it just 3 & 4? Ah, that's besides the point. I just cannot wait!!
