@@shadesoftime Funny thing is, Nintendo only strikes down fangames that break a specific set of rules according to the hosters of the largest mario fangames website. Outside of that, nearly all projects related to the mother series is safe from being taken down on account of those games still technically being owned by the series creator, and said creator has came out in support of the fanbase making more games if they are up for it.

If I saw this on a Nintendo Direct, I would ascend to heaven live on stream. My soul would leave its mortal coil; I would ascend.

That is straight forward into the direction of YOUR culture. Nobody's taking away the fact that, even when stealing property is illegal, you can pirate this intellectual property and get the experience while contributing nothing to the economy. Why would Nintendo try to force this experience down the throats of the last remaining people who DON'T want to and haven't already? @@eudacye709 Why not? This game is very simple. Maybe there would have to be some technical setup from a human initially, but you could almost do it with what we have today. Sure, its hard to predict the future, but this isn't outside the realm of possibility, or even probability.

It makes me incredibly happy that all of you respected the idea Itoi had for a 3D Mother, a clay-like look, I really love all the work was put into this, I don't know how Nintendo works, but all I can hope is for Itoi to watch this and, maybe, show it to nintendo for a remake. You are an incredibly talented team, I don't know what plans you might have for the future, but I wish you the best and can't wait to see the plans of it (btw, hope one day you make a game, your own or working for someone!!) I think it's the weight of prky's actions combined with the the music seeming hopeful at first, but then switching on you and going for a downturn as the planet gets "modified". that title sequence is then juxtaposed with the "healed"/Pre-Porky logo at the end, adding more weight to the standard, roboticized logo.

That was absolutely incredible! This could've been a trailer for a Mother 3 Remake! Dang wish it was real! I love the mixed framerates of the character animations + the 60 FPS "gameplay"! Makes it feel really authentic! Allround amazing guys! This is next level!

I’ve never played a Mother or Earthbound game. I know virtually nothing about the lore. I’ve never even heard much of anything about them at all, other than that they are heartfelt and emotional cult classics. The only other thing I’ve heard for sure is the unified call for redemption for this particular game, which Nintendo constantly turns a blind eye to. And I sympathize with those people, for Mother is their passion and they want such a gem to live on. So when I laid eyes upon this, I could feel the burning love that went into it through the music, the visuals, and the chorus of all these devoted supporters rejoicing at this incredible tribute. It brings a smile to my face. Maybe Nintendo will never realize what they’re missing by holding back, but as long as this fanbase continues to share its marvelous creations, Itoi’s work will never be forgotten. In the meantime, I will be standing on the side and supporting you all…

I recently started playing through Mother 3 a couple weeks ago. To say I’m hooked is an understatement, if some day you do play it, I hope you can have the same kind of experience I am having with it right now.

Imagine an HD trilogy looking like this... Mother is a rare case of a truly completed series, but I'd love to see a project like this while Itoi is around to consult on the look and feel of updated visuals.

Started playing the translated version yesterday and I love it so far (played through all of chapter 1). I love the environment and serenity of it all, but also the idea of a group of peaceful townsfolk being put to the test to defend what they love against a strange antagonistic force. I hate to see the townsfolk in pain, but I’m excited to seem them stand up for what’s right. Rest In Peace Hinawa.

The difference is a passion and love for what they're creating, and a determination to make it something special. So it's not just a job. That's why projects like SSBU and BOTW turn out amazing, but entries for Pokemon are a more standard kind of good. So it's not impossible, but it'd need the right people behind it! Either way, this video is gorgeous and fantastically created. Would love to see their work in the industry proper.

@@TheMysticalFox uhh... not quite. smash ultimate is yet another rehashed brawl with severely streamlined mechanics that make it feel less like the games before it, it was more of a quantity over quality thing. that's why there's no engaging story mode or really any care put into the actual gameplay aspects. just cram as many dlc characters in as possible as if it's mugen. while i never played botw, i've seen many video essays and such about it. it seems to be lacking a lot in story, along with dungeons being very repetitious since the scope of the game was far too large. it's not really "bad" for something experimental by nintendo, just incohesive. pokemon is just a confusing mess now. i'll never understand why they never went back to the gamecube games' style of gameplay... probably because they take too much effort to make. so what happens when you don't know what to do? either "remake" the old games or make a barren open world game. that'll solve all the problems. i doubt any of the modern games for these series will be looked at fondly in the future. the reality is that when consumers accept mediocrity, just saying "it's kind of good" and never raising their standards above that, is when the quality of games drop since there isn't a need to care anymore. a good somewhat recent example was that nocturne remaster. they got away with rereleasing almost the exact same game from 20 years ago that you could've otherwise emulated for the price of almost the same as a triple a title. and people will go through hoops to defend their horrible decision to buy such a worthless remaster because they desperately don't want to look stupid. when i see something like this... just leave it to the fans. none of the original developers for these games are even around anymore. the only ones who truly understand are their fans. fans like these people. so much passion, sweat, and blood for a game that means absolutely nothing to nintendo because as we know, it's never been localized. of course, this isn't a real game, but if it were i'd keep it away from nintendo. they'd just bastardize it. but knowing nintendo... the cease and desist has priority over an acceptance of competition, and the ability to prove that they have the same love for these games as their fans do.

The reason most buy these games is how they're presented: as awesome titles, and while initially they may be, in the end they're just another in a long line of successes. Games like Chrono Trigger or the original Paper Mario were remembered because they broke the mold in such a way that we remembered for it, instead of being just another "ooh, a new switch game" game.

Just noticed that, in the tribute, the light through the window is shining the closest to Lucas. Which is very endearing and accurate for his character development- *sees Hinawa being closer to the door and Claus between them* *-oh. **_Oh._*

From the first minute this hit me right in the heart where Mother 3 lives. This is such a beautiful tribute to a wonderful game. I know it's not a real remaster, but it makes me unbelievably happy even so. (that little animation of Lucas hugging Boney?? omg im gonna cry)

I was wondering why the opening line of "To think we would be blessed with two children at once" made me so emotional for such an innocent line. Then I remembered which part of the game it came from. Yeah... makes sense now...

If this was a real Nintendo Direct announcement I’d have honest to God cried. Watching this made my jaw drop and gave me chills, I only wish it were a real game. The work done here is incredible, this really looks like it could be a real trailer for a Mother 3 remake. The artstyle is incredible and all the little subtle techniques to make it all look like real gameplay is outstandingly done. What an incredible tribute to my favourite RPG of all time

I come back to this video every month or so just to remind myself how good this was.

With games like kirby and the rainbow curse, this kind've graphics style is entirely possible. Wish more games had that clay animation look to them.

I think even better example wise would be the Legend Of Zelda: Links awakening Remake. THEY DID THE STYLE ALREADY. Like sure, I mean, they're not gonna do the in-between hand-made frames that gives it the clay animation vibe for a playable game, but THEY ALREADY DID IT.

This is one of the most amazing fan-made videos I’ve ever seen, perfectly paying tribute to one of the best games I’ve ever played. I got chills several times during this video and everyone involved should be extremely proud of themselves. Outstanding work!!

Learn Japanese then. It takes four days to understand hiragana and katakana (two days for each character system) if you actually try (don’t play any video games just study from sun up till sun down)

you should check out hylics if you like the claymation aesthetic! the first one is made completely from real photographed clay. the second is at least mostly computer generated i believe though.

Mother 3 on Japanese Switch Online yet still not overseas… I pray that we’re gearing up for a remake in a similar vein to this amazing project, otherwise I fear the magic of mother 3 will never fully reach the west. One can dream 😢

Earth turning into metallic sphere, glad they catched the symbolism of MOTHER 3.

This is 100% gonna take off and get noticed with how high quality it is, here’s hoping Nintendo takes some notes! Masterfully done you guys!

I love the animation style and the slightly low frame rate to call back to the original animations, and that transition at the end was amazing. You guys rock

This is so incredible from how everything moves it feels like a real gameplay trailer, and yet I'm so sad that it isn't, but maybe someday Nintendo will deliver!

a year later and its fucking phenomenal. thank you for breathing new life into mother 3.

Everything I could've imagined and more. I can't understate this enough. I will celebrate the day we get Mother 3 in the west, but from now on there's going to to be a part of me that will be saddened that it won't be exactly like your concept trailer. It captured the very spirit of the series in a beautiful and expressive way that this franchise deserves and isn't getting from Nintendo. You all are artist that have the potential to give an incredible game the visuals it warrants.

This is literally god tier I need a remake like this from Nintendo

Keep in mind that this franchise is Ito's baby, and even if Nintendo owns the IP 100%, they've always been respectful towards Ito in terms of moving the series forward or not. Ito has said that he believes the series is complete, and possible that he has no interest in a remake, as lovely as it would be to see.

@@aaronbrown554 It unfortunately is pretty impossible. There are some themes in Mother 3 that would be very controversial in western markets, like the Magypsies or how Salsa is treated. There is also the obvious loss of life being an important theme. Nintendo never uses mature themes like these in their cartoony games, it's usually only for the games intended for older audiences. Games like Earthbound and Kirby are so abstract that their mature themes are only really alluded to, and can go unnoticed by a younger player. Also, the original game was very poorly optimized text wise. IIRC it took the creators of the fan translation months to figure out how to use non Japanese characters, because the game was coded only with Japanese text in mind. Nintendo would absolutely refuse to use a fan translation, so in the event that they would be interested in porting Mother 3, they would have to rewrite code for a GBA game, something that may be impossible for them at this point or not worth the trouble in their eyes. Mother 1 was only translated because Nintendo was sitting on an official translation for years. Unless Nintendo decides to acknowledge the community that mods their games, something they are extremely against, I don't think we will ever see any sort of port or remaster outside of Japan.

This is exactly what I would want to see out if an Earthbound/Mother remake. I absolutely love how you've made it look like the clay figures used for the official art.

One of the sad things is, you know if Nintendo actually made a remake of Mother 3, it would never have this level of care or polish. You just know at 0:53 they wouldn't manually animate Hinawa turning around, they'd just swivel her model around 180 degrees and play her overworld walk animation.

CAN YOU IMAGINE THOUGH?? If Nintendo showed something like this in a Direct, I really think they’d break the internet.

And I thought the Wess Dance video was groundbreaking. Mother 3 is one of my favorite games of all time, and seeing so many highlights in clay-like 3D is priceless. A remake on the Switch would look exactly like this. Thanks for your work!

I never played the Mother/Earthbound series, but even I feel a bit nostalgic watching this. Probably due to the movement and camera angles being reminiscent of other games similar to it, which I’ve watched, played and loved all the same. I can clearly see all the love and care for the game in the animations, and I bet that those feelings reached those who do have nostalgic ties to the game.

Hopefully Itoi (With his permission because it's HIS idea/game) and Nintendo can look at this masterpiece and do an HD remake of this game(Like the recent Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening). I guarantee it'll sell and make a TON of people happy, (and possibly invite new people to the Mother series) plus they already added Earthbound to the Switch so this would just be the icing on the cake.

they would probably have to localize mother 3 first, and it will probably take a long time since original mother was localized only 6 years ago 😔it would be a dream come true if they made 3d mother though

I would pay $60 in a heartbeat. And yes, just use that engine they used for Link's Awakening and I'd be satisfied.

Don't think I could emotionally handle the Sunflower Fields scene.

I've never played an Earthbound/Mother game before, but this certainly entices me to pick it up. So beautifully animated and scored, everyone would believe this was real.

Mother 3 is absolute perfection distilled into a GBA cartridge. I adore everything about it; the music, the visuals, the story… it’s one of my favourite games of all time and the world needs to see it!

Over 2 years since this came out. Wow. Even now I'm still in awe from how incredibly made this was.. there was so much talent put into this tribute and the finished product came out *amazingly*!

Absolutely stunning animation. So much love & care put into this project...it's impossibly beautiful, and that's bittersweet because it looks so much like a remake Nintendo could greenlight! I can see this having been shown right after the EarthBound/Beginnings NSO announcement from this month's Direct...everyone would've utterly lost their minds 😅 my eyes were wide open watching the entire thing, it's honestly the most detailed tribute to one of my favorite games ever. Thank you to everyone who helped put this together 🌎

EarthBound Ends would be such a great title for this.. since it's both set in the future and about Porky corrupting an island with the ends of making it a utopia
