This painting process shows again, how masterfully skilled you are as an artist. On one point in the video I was asking myself: „What is she wanting to achieve with those colors chosen for the face part of the painting?“. When I looked at the marvelous finished piece, I knew that it was magic and I also knew, that she did achieve it.

wow thank you so much for this comment! when you were wondering what I was thinking with the colors of her face, I was there with you! To be honest, if I had fullly rendered her face , I would not be able to get this done because the colors are too hard to mix again.

What a pretty painting! The yellow pops of color complemented the muted colors. 💛

Its amazing how you captured that look of wonder in her face. It was relatable to hear you judge your work so harsly at times but throughout the process all i can see is your amazing talent.

I would be perfectly happy if every painting you showed us was one you'd just done for yourself. This was beautiful. I really love seeing how what seem like crazy color choices during the ugly stage really come together at the end. It reminds me to not fret so much in my own ugly phases.

I feel like that would take away the whole purpose of making a drawing for yourself (In my opinion) because then it wouldn’t really just be for herself.

I love Anne with an E! There are so many beautiful scenes in that show. I'd love to see more. Also, never feel pressured to film. Sometimes, it's much more enjoyable to paint or create off-camera.

You did a fantastic job. It sounds like fear and self-doubt held you back and that's so relatable. Approaching a painting like a problem keeps it interesting. It's what engages our minds to keep going, keep pushing, and keep improving.

I 100% understand what you were saying at the beginning about pretending the camera wasn’t there and painting for yourself. I struggle so much with this. Since I record almost everything I paint nowadays it’s hard to get into that “no pressure” mindset which is so important. It’s a constant struggle. Watching you paint is so relaxing. Gorgeous painting 😍

At the ugly stage I truly thought there is no way this greenish grey will work on the face, and I swear even now I don't understand what and how just happened that suddenly it just worked. You are truly amazing and so inspirational!

I definitely feel you with needing to create just for yourself! So much of my own art I feel I always need to post and it creates stress if it isn't turning out. Sometimes stepping back and just doing a free painting session for yourself is so nice.

I was wondering, would you have any advice on how to draw eyes, they are such a problem for me i never get them right. the irises seem to take most of the visible eyeball space but mine always come out bug eyed skskks

What kind of pencil are you using? I like the light red colored leads (if they are lead). I think something like this would be better for me to use before painting. The ones I use are darker. Thank you!

thank you for this video, I really enjoy watching you paint and talk about your process, its always fun :) this painting feels like you had more fun with it, maybe because of it was a stress free one :) sorry for a technical subject, but have you made a video about taking art-videos? your filming and light on your work are great and I been wanting to ask you about it for awhile, I try to film my drawings but getting into many problems, mainly that I have to edit a lot and make it all contrasty and dark. if you have any tips I would really love and be grateful to hear from you on this topic :)

Thank you so much! and yes I have been thinking about making a video on starting an art channel. I have slowing down on youtube because I'm having a hard time editing videos due to health issues. I think this will be the perfect time to make a video like that, as soon as I can go through the videos I have already filmed and need editing 😭

@@hambot ohhh wait wait I didnt know that and wish you'll have a fast recovery! I really appreciate this comment from you, it takes time to film, edit and make a whole video and sometimes we dont really think about it as a part of the process, only when doing that we "discover" what goes behind the sences. whenever it comes - I will wait and enjoy what you create, cuz your videos are fun to watch :) thank you :)

Even when I thin out my gouache considerably it still hides the pencil beneath. Is there a special kind of pencil I should be using, or does it perhaps depend more on the paper?
