Reinventing Yourself

One of the most exciting things about life is being able to transform your identity whenever you want. For most people, transformation happens naturally and gradually over time. But sometimes you can purposefully and intentionally undergo a process of personal reinvention to become a new version of you.
In this episode of #GayMenGoingDeeper, we’re talking about Reinventing Yourself and answering questions such as…
1. What has contributed to defining your self-image?
2. How have you let go of old versions of yourself?
3. How have you gone about reinventing yourself?
4. How do you perceive yourself now? How much of that perception comes from how others respond to you?
Join us as we share our own reinventions of the past, present and how we’re reinventing ourselves for the future.

ABOUT:
This is a conscious community for gay men to connect with each other on the journey of healing from shame and becoming more authentic and aligned to their truth. We aim to offer inspiration, support, connection, healing, and a safe space to show up just as you are. Our vision for the members is to learn to feel more comfortable showing up vulnerably so deeper intimacy can be established in our community. We dream of a gay community where everyone can feel more connected to one another in more ways than just superficial and we can feel less lonely and have deeper connections to one another.

I absolutely love this episode. as a 67 yr old. I have experienced most of the situations you discussed. I'm going to save it to watch it again and again. I also send it to a few friends who can benefit. I'm still trying to find myself, and some of your suggestions will definitely help. THANK YOU

I am new to the gay world. Well kind of at 44 I came out. that was last year. This has been the hardest most challanging year of my life. Losing my job my house and so much more. I Just recently found you guys and it's so good to see all the topics you cover but this one has touched me the most. with so so many struggles ahead some days I ask myself was it worth it after 44 years what did or will I gain.

Change can be terrifying, but it can also be great! I think the hardest part is to realise that we need to reinvent ourselves, of course dating to start changing is very difficult, but realising it is just almost impossible sometimes for a lot of us. I’m very grateful for finding you guys, every episode is very special, and I’m always looking forward to hearing you. Warm hugs

You guys are amazing. Your podcast helps me a lot (and I am a straight girl). Currently reinventing myself towards the creative being that I truly am (and always was as a child but then later in life lost it more or less). In my case this is singing and dancing. Kind of hit rock bottom last year, husband left me, moved out, me being alone and also dealing with health issues. But I see the way out of this and also go it in reinventing myself. Or for me the term works better, that I am just coming back to who I truly am. Of course combining this with my experience and being as an adult woman. And also currently welcome the thought that I will be able to have a true loving relationship with a man again. So thank you three for your thought and Inspiration. 🌷

I have watched this episode several times, and each time, something different rings a bell with me. I just came out to my family after hiding for 8 decades, and the response so far has been acceptance and love. My son-in-law has gay friends and I have asked him to introduce me to them so I can begin finding others like me and who can help me to expand my horizon of those I can openly relate to and learn from. Thanks to the three of you for your being there when I needed to hear that I am OK as I am.

Was a straight A student, AP scholar, went to church twice a week even after my family stopped going; was the best kid anyone could ask for...constantly physically & mentally abused, threatened to be 5150'd, had cops called on me all the time, always told NO-that was the only word my parent ever said to me, NO. So nothing I did or will do will ever be good enough. & I've done a lot to advocate for myself & care for myself but that is always a big big part of my mental state.
