Nice one mate. You will definitely have to clean out the mechanical filtration 2 weekly. I used a canister on a reef for ages but had no floss or filer mesh etc. It worked really well for me. Just weekly to 2 weekly wash out of the bio media.

Thanks man. Yeah it's going to be an interesting challenge! I do remember yours haha! I hope to get to a stage where I don't have to service the canister filter that often but we'll see how it goes. Hope your nano is going well!

@@MelbourneReefer things had been going great on my 350 until today! I got a copperband butterfly 3 weeks ago and things had been going great and was eating really well and still is but this morning when checking the tank over he has lots of white spots and so does my foxface and firefish. Think its ich!! Gutted, not really sure how to treat it or what to do. Got some kent garlic xtreme extract coming tomorrow in the home to boost immune systems to beat it will be gutted if I lose fish now.

@@nanocpx ah damn sorry to hear mate! Are they still eating? If they’re still eating I wouldn’t stress too much. It’s totally up to you but whenever my fish have bad ich I’ve tried to refrain from catching them out with a net as I find it just stresses them out to the max…good luck man and keep feeding them frozen food with garlic
