Red Chile Spiced Fries - Cooked in the Air Fryer
Ingredients:
2 russet potatoes
1 tsp powdered New Mexico red chile
1 tsp chile lime salt
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
Fresh cracked pepper or pinch of black pepper
Vegetable spray
Directions:
Preheat the air fryer at 375 degrees. Slice potatoes into ¼ inch slices lengthwise, leaving the skins on. Put the fries into some water for about 15 minutes to remove some of the starch.
While the potatoes are in the water, mix all spices together and set aside.
Drain the fries and pat with paper towels or a kitchen towel until they are completely dry. Now add them to a large bowl and sprinkle on the spices. Toss to coat evenly. Add them to the preheated air fryer and cook for about 15 minutes, turning them over at the half-way point. When you remove the fries from the air fryer, sprinkle them with some additional salt. Enjoy!

I feel that each is kind of specific to a season or a certain dish, but when I eat out, it’s always Christmas 😁

that looks soooooooooo good! I'm definitely going to use some red chile on my next batch of fries... I'm thinking just the tiniest bit of sugar too. I think wingstop puts a little sugar in their fry spice and I always liked it. I'm sure these are best with red chile powder but have you tried it with green?

Brilliant! I love the idea of adding a little sugar! And no, I have not tried it with the green powder but now my mouth is watering to give it a go!

This looks delicious. Can you share your preference for red chile powder? Do you use powders from different chile varieties based on the dish or a kind of go to combo? Thanks in advance for any insight.

I typically get some powder from chimayo. It is my favorite. The fruit basket has some really great red powder and all varieties of heat. Check it out! thefruitbasketabq.com/
