Copycat Dion’s Green Chile Ranch Dressing Recipe - How to Make Green Chile Ranch Dressing

Hey Chile-Heads! This week, we're attempting our very first copycat recipe here on "Red or Green?": Copycat Dion's Green Chile Ranch Dressing. Every New Mexican knows the local pizza place Dion's has some of the tastiest ranch in the state, and everyone was shocked and amazed when they released their now infamous green chile ranch a few years ago. It combines their signature savory ranch flavor with the spicy and sweet flavor of chopped NM green chile -- what's not to love? I've concocted this recipe that tastes identical to the Dion's green chile ranch; it's so simple to make and brings these flavors straight to your home! This green chile ranch pairs perfectly with pizza ( • Green Chile and Pepper... ), salad...the possibilities are endless. Don't just take my word for it: try this recipe and comment below to tell me how it compares to Dion's ranch!
Thank you so much for watching this video! I'm so excited to teach you guys all about New Mexican and Mexican cuisine, and even to visit more New Mexican restaurants here in Albuquerque. If you have any New Mexican/Mexican dishes you would like to see me cook on this channel, or any NM restaurants you'd like to see me visit, please let me know in a comment down below! Also, subscribe so you never miss one of my recipes.

Copycat Dion’s Green Chile Ranch Dressing
Ingredients:
1 cup of mayonnaise
½ cup of greek yogurt
½ tsp dried parsley
½ tsp dried dill
½ tsp dried chives
1 tsp onion salt
Salt, to taste
A pinch of black pepper
¼ -½ cup of water
½ cup of chopped New Mexico green chile (if you don’t have access to NM green chile, you can use any chopped green chile)
Directions:
Blend 1 cup mayonnaise and ½ cup of greek yogurt together. Next add all spices and mix until very well blended. Add in a little bit of water at a time until you reach the desired consistency. Now add ½ cup of chopped New Mexico green chile and stir to combine. You will not be able to tell the difference between this green chile ranch recipe and Dion’s! Enjoy!

I’m going to try this but a little modified. I’m allergic to parsley and don’t like mayonnaise based ranches, but I have a tasty recipe that uses sour cream and dill. Green chile will be an amazing addition! Thank you 💚

I remember the time I went to Dion's pizza and ordered a green Chile pepperoni pizza and ranch.

I know this isn't technically NM food, but iykyk - the Dion's round, flat croutons from wayyyy back in the day. Does any Albuquerque native know what im talking about?

This came out very good! I saw this and I knew I had to attempt this. I'm a ABQ native so I live by the Dion's dressing. Only thing I did different was I did 3/4 cup of mayo. The full cup made it with a strong mayo taste, which was a no no lol. Overall, amazing!! Made a jar for my house and for a friend

Since the original has buttermilk, would it work to mix buttermilk in instead of water?

Yes, definitely. It may just be a little thicker in consistency.

Maybe some copycat El Modelo stuffed sopapillas? 🤤 I appreciate your content and will be adding your recipes to my recipe books!

It would work better if you mixed some hot water with the spices first. Let that sit 5 mins. Then proceed.
