agreed! its because of him ive been consistantly cooking again and keeping my kitchen clean too. ive been battling frequent depressive swings and its been hard. seeing he is a fellow stoner that still gets shit done, all the way down to the clean up part, theres no excuse for me not to as well. and watching him and seeing the awesome person he is and how happy he always is, has me being more productive than ever.

@Rich Young Please beware that both alcohol and weed are depressives. I have first hand experience that quitting will only help you feel better, try to lessen your intake as much as possible and work toward sobriety if you feel you can.

I put my rice in a strainer and run cold water over the rice. I wash it till the water draining is almost clear. then, I dump it in the pot and add water. Learned this from a Chef buddy.

Keeeeeev, Dude, I know it takes a lot more preparation that what you normally do for your shorts, but these longer format videos are where it's at. You're an amazing chef, and as someone that has been watching shows like the ORIGINAL Iron Chef from Japan that aired on the Food Network back in the early 2000s, I've been into cooking ever since. Then KZread and people like you came along. I can't tell you how grateful I am for these videos (and all the videos that you put out). I like the longer format ones so you can really get a good instructional video about how to replicate what you're doing properly. Thanks so very much for all the time and effort that you put into making these videos. They make me a better cook, and making other people happy with food that I've prepared makes me happy as well. This is such an amazing platform solely because of people like yourself. I can't tell you how glad I came across your channel many months ago. Hey Kev, how do you split your shoulder for freezing? I literally just did this last night, but I've been doing it in four thicker pieces and one is this raggy piece. I often smoke them (got one in the smoker now) but wanted to find something else to do with them, this was perfectly timed.

Kev, man just enjoying a beer while watching you cook. My son is next to me listening and says “that is making me hungry.” Love your continued content my man.
Im more of a straight sauage guy myself. Lived in Caddo n Bossier Parishes for about decade and thats what they done and learned me down there. The trinity and the pope are all essential. My sausages are usually sweet italian, hot italian, andouille, boudin(if Im lucky enough to find it) and a smoked polish kielbasa. I always soak my fresh dry red beans in warm water with baking soda for an least an hour n a half up to three hours. I usually sautée my veggies, brown my sausages, add a big can of whole tomatoes I dice, chicken or veggie stock and the rinsed and drained beans in my slow cooker. Add your cajun seasonings and a bay leaf or two. 8-10 hrs later the magic will be ready to serve over a bowl of fluffy minute rice. Jalapeño cornbread is optional but recommended. This was great. Try adding a half cup of water with your bacon and turn the heat down once the water starts steaming off. You could have got a much better render of the bacon that way.
