Only works with drives you can access. Would not work on drives with access problems.

I deleted a folder from my desktop and also deleted it from trash bin. And realized it weeks later. Can I point the recovery file program to my desktop search only so it doesn't recover other stuff to (deleted by other means) Or does it need to search my whole OS drive and recover everything that was there before. Even those files I didn't need to. Do I use X command or N For this procedure?

I have a bad problem going on. So my desktop icons disappeared and i saw one of you videos, the problem is that they are not acctualy gone but they are not showing instead something like a text document shortcut is being shown. I made a new user account but it also occured there. When i try to use any of the apps throuhgt shortcuts such as win+e, it says no such interface found, same with clicking on the document like icons. Pls help.

SAVED MY WEEK!!! I was skeptical about anything microsoft... but it did work for me. I had to recover Database files that were not in the extension list : But it did recover them...

Just a small finding here. If the drive has been corrupted (Windows blue screen and not restarting) then the Windows File Recovery does NOT work. I tried it twice, once I got to 30% and the second time to 0% with a mechanical drive. So, apparently how the drive is structured affects the Windows File Recovery utility.

Hi There, I'm facing a big trouble. Two Years ago I save some of my important password on a .txt file and save & Lock that file. It was really important for me. But When I Give new Windows Installation, I Tried to open that file but I'm unable. And It almost passed 2 Years. I Forgot even the password. Is there any way to open the locked .txt file again? Whenever I try to login, I'm getting this message "you do not have permission to open this file. See the owner of the file or an administrator to obtain permission"

I truly felt this was a "holiday" joke! "Free Microsoft Software" Brian tells me to go to "Microsoft Store" wow what a turn of events. Maybe there "Better" Coders where writing this instead of Windows 2004?

It was Microsoft and their "updates" that made my PC unbootable in the first place. I only got it back on through a USB boot. Now all my files are gone. And "Windows Recovery" is not helping.

A very good tool to have. It's a shame that it is only for 2004. I won't be installing 2004 any time soon.thanks for the video

Can anyone help me today I start my Wi dows xp PC and my regular username and password was not workin (it was correct but not working). So I logged in as "Administrator" without password and I logged in as a new user... my files are still there but my files which were on Desktop are not there and the Folder in C - Document & Settings - i click on (my old username) and it is not opening (not accecible) and it is showing Empty Folder in Properties.

I highly recommend Gid_mond on Instagram he's best in what he does.

I made a test. Put some picture files on an external hdd. Deleted them. Used this tool, and it found NOTHING!
