A huge thank you to you all for your love and prayers as Beryl makes her approach to Jamaica today. My family and I have prepared in the best way we can and we are ready to ride out the hurricane. I don’t know what Jamaica will look like after today but regardless of what happens, we are a resilient nation and we will rebuild and can overcome. If it follows the middle of that cone it will be far enough south to spare you the worst category 4 winds. You might just get strong tropical storm winds and, if you're very unlucky, minimal hurricane strength winds. The only other major concern would flooding from the rain. There was a good amount of rain but not as much rain as I expected, considering it's a hurricane. I've had more rain from some intense tropical waves. No flooding in my area and didn't hear of any major flooding anywhere else in the south. So Dani'i that offshore path should be comfort to you - as long as you don't live too close to the sea to get impacted by storm surge.

Firstly I would like to ask for extra prayers for essential workers like myself who are leaving their families to work in the Hurricane. I did my best to secure my home, stock up on food and emergency supplies all I can do now is pray for safety and try my utmost best to focus on my patients at work and continue giving the best care possible.

As humans we can do more for ourselves than just pray. We need to get up off our asses and actually make a difference. It is us that cause this weather by raising the heat with all the foolishness we do. All the plastics that are left everywhere. All the factories to mess up the air. Humans need to straighten up because now the earth is upset. Yes the earth is a living being just like us and we need to take care of it and stop hoping God will take care of it for us. He help those who help themselves and right now humans are not helping themselves. They just sit back destroy the earth and expect God to protect them after.

Carriacou is completely destroyed. It looks like a post-nuclear landscape. Most properties have lost their roofs. There is debris everywhere. All green vegetation is completely gone. There is no power, or communications. The people only have limited food & fresh water supplies. Assessment of immediate & long-term relief is needed without delay. Jamaica, take deep cover. Cat 4 is no joke !!

We boarded up windows, or closed storm shutters where we had those. We were ready with canned food and other prestorm preparations. Now Beryl has passed, we saw many trees lose limbs, and in one instance, a large tree snap off at the root and crash to the ground.

Stay safe! As a Jamacian, you've got through this before. Beryl isn't your normal Hurricane. Hunker down. How am I prepairing? I live in Glendale, Arizona and the only weather I'm prepairing for is the heat. It's going to be 115°F later today! I forgot ,hat rain looks like, it's been so long. It's not likely here but we might have a very small burst of moisture. Good luck to you!😊
