I used the alternator from the 2.0 motor with the 6 rib belt, used a vr6 water pump pulley (not grooved) using a 6pk 1033 belt and its never let me down

You should have socked the block in pool acid it would have cleaned the water jackets nicely

I’m enjoying the build series so far in spite of the “budget build” departure. If I may ask, what prompted you to venture down the rabbit hole of building an 8v as opposed to sourcing a 16v, VR6 or 1.8T ? I imagine the costs associated are fairly similar.

Thanks bud. Initially I wasn’t planning on doing all the modifications that I have done. Being a “budget build” at the time, it was a much cheaper option as opposed to those other options. I would have loved a vr6 or 16v. also wanted a NA build that’s why I didn’t opt for a 1.8t

Howzit Bru use a jetta 3 none aircon water pump pulley and crank pulley also from a jetta and get a belt to fit
