Very nice video! Tip when removing the emergency brake cable. If you pop off the big spring then remove the nut on the back of the plate where the cable is attached the plate will come off with a little help from your hammer. With the plate removed the cable comes right out. Cheers!

This is very similar to my cx-3. The parking brake line was removed a little simpler. Theres a slide retainer which is removed first, then you can unhook it. No channel locks needed.

Use a rubber tire valve to pull through the brake line where the banjo bolt goes through to hold the line on the caliper. That will stop any fluid from coming out until u get it hooked back up

Hey, good video as something you taken your time out to do. Just some advice to help with getting more views. 1) Add the size sockets either in the description or video (you added something about the caliper tool) 2) Section your video out on the appropriate chapters - i.e taking off caliper, taking off rotor, compressing piston back into caliper etc 3) Music was loud when you were talking, so may need to increase your voice vol or reduce the music SFX when your talking, you can edit this. However, respect for making the video. Saves me hassle on finding out what sockets and tools I need ready. Thanks, Synchro

@@Loubar87 Your welcome. As I was working on my car, I decided to record my changes too. I drive a Mazda 3 Sport myself. :D I wanted to ask if I could recommend you video within mine, as you go into full detail on the brake disc section and fully removing the caliper (not just the housing). This shows how much I appreciated your video and would like to ask your permission. I will be linking into my description so they come straight to your channel. Thanks Louis, as this saved me some time on knowing what tools I needed to start work on my Mazda 3.

So I had the same issue my pads were wearing out unevenly l tried changing the pads and hell meet me , when I put in the new pads it pops/protrudes out from the rotor and the caliper won’t close . I need help figuring what’s wrong ..

  • @Loubar87

Your rotors are most likely warped. Any time you get steering wheel shaking when braking is because the rotors are uneven(warped). So even if you were to get new pads, the rotors are still uneven and will continue to get the shakes with the new pads.

Thanks for the video but I have to say that it would have been nice for you to show a bit more detail about the intricate steps. Where did you apply grease? How do clips install? One break pad is different than the other but can’t tell by your video.

If you or anyone is having trouble with a rusted on bolt you can use a propane or better yet an acetylene torch to heat the bolt which expands it a tiny amount and cracks the rust. If you dont have anyone with experience doing that, look up how to on youtube, its easy but the important things are do not aim the flame at any wire or rubber boot, it WILL melt, and either be mindful of touch metal after or wear gloves, it wont be red hot but it will be hundreds of degrees. -spell check
