Hektor, you're a lifesaver. I was stuck with the brakes all apart on my 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited, and heard lots of expensive advice on how to do this with the scanners and special tools. I did what you said, and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much!!

Hektor , iv been watching a few guys doing the rear calipers with electronic hand breaks , REALLY at the end of the day there was nothing wrong with the old handbreak cable system , SO you are the fourth guy iv watched doing this job , lost an hour , but gained a lot of knowledge so I'll be more confident doing my rear brakes on my engine driven Tin Can . Each guy approached this job from a different perspective but all in all got the job done and NO need for an expensive garage bill , Stay Safe Hektor , Stan up in Edinburgh Scotland UK .

Saved me a trip to the dealer! I used a 12v battery charger from Canadian Tire and it worked perfectly! Rear brakes on a 2019 Jetta.

Man.this is really awesome help.i do all my own mechanical work and also for paying family and friends.recently ive worrying about how to do this because a few family members have bought vw golfs and tiguans with e parking.cant believe how easy this is.

I was able to do it with just a 9V battery! watched your video and had nothing other than a 9Vand it worked. was slower than a 12v but it still worked!

Thank you Hector for a fine video. I just put a 7 amp inline fuse on the positive wire just to be safe. You saved me a lot of money.

Best EPB video on KZread - finally an explanation and demo you can understand, thanks a lot I will try it soon on my Hyundai Ioniq EV, these EV's need a lot of brake service because they use the brakes so little, sounds really stupid but it's true...

My mate changed the front pads on his Golf and said he needs to take it to a garage to have the rears done. But after watching your amazing video, I can show him how to do it himself. Really glad there are 'Cool Dudes' like you, uploading brill 'How to' vids. Hektor will/can this same method apply to other makes of vehicles, eg. Jaguar,Audi, Mercedes, etc,etc, also???.

Thanks Hektor, I just did mine on a passat 2006, worked out pretty good. (I used as a power source my 20v power drill battery. Work just fine.) 👍🏻👍🏻

I just did my Accord rear brakes with electronic parking brake. I just screwed the piston in with a brake tool until it stops, then press the piston the rest of the way with a c-clamp.

The hero we needed!!

Pretty cool tip in case you don't have the caliper compressor kit with plates that fit into the piston grooves and rotate/compress at the same time.

I have the 2018 Ioniq EV and need to do the same procedure, nice to know it works - and hello up ther from Denmark! I guess that means that the car will calibrate the parking brake to the new position by itself? that was my only worry

@@EnmandsBand1 hei Jim, yes the car does it. After I finished the job and plugged in the cables again I switched on and 'set' the handbrake on and off a few times. That was it, piece of cake! Lykke til!

You should have also set the caliper with the notches correctly so it engages the dimple on the back of the pad. Anyone that does this, do it at your own risk as without using a diag tool that can put the brake in service mode you may not be able to get it to work right after for a variety of issues that take too long to explain just be warned of how many people have done this and ended up having to replace the calipers and recode with VCDS
