@@raiden4695 that's way there are limited edition's from high end car manufacturers only for people that have multiple cars from those companies that are stored and often go up in price (mostly because of debt papier being les then toilet paper) an because of limited numbers......... Ow they are only gas powered that get that status because you won't be selling your 15 / 20 Year old electric car because the battery has been dead 3 times over ..... But there is one advantage it's goes really fast from 0 to a 100 ......

That’s quicker than a GT2RS, Huracán Performante, Shelby GT500 as well as the McLaren 720S and a Dodge Viper ACR and Time Attack models and despite being 3 tenths slower than the McLaren Senna, I’m impressed by the Taycan Turbo GT considering the fact that it weighs 5000 pounds

it's not really faster than Model S Plaid on straight line acceleration,, but it's gonna destroy PLAID on every Racetrack,, it had so much better Handling than Model S Plaid.

According to Porsche 2.2s (vs. 2.1sec by Teslas marketing), but usually Porsche's estimations are quite conservative, so you can expect it to be even faster IRL. Tesla on the other hand often overestimates so there's a good change the Taycan GT is faster than the Plaid. But yeah on the track there won't be any chance for the Tesla.

@@d1on for reference in the final straight line before checked Flag the Taycan did 100-200kmh (*with "attack mode") around 4,7-4,8s,,, compared the Plaid could do 4,0-4,2s on 100-200 accelerations,, Yeah maybe the Taycan could do better if at best conditions and not at the end of Hot Lap like this one,,maybe the Performace a bit reduced because some overheat (*but i doubt that, cause Taycan had 800v battery and better heat management compared to Tesla) but I still believe that Taycan will not do faster than 4,0s on 100-200kmh acceleration even with better/perfect conditions,,

@@rianrahmanto8069 It's uphill and slightly cornered, though. Hard to tell from the video and these conditions. Just wait for direct comparisons/drag races. In the end even if the Telsa was slightly faster it wouldn't change the fact it is a shithole of a car in every other aspect than pure acceleration and range 😂

The Nevera has slightly better time (2 secs) at the Nurburgring, with an extra 1000hp and carbon fiber every where. Weight will limit the 918 to similar times as well. Unless they install half the capacity of the battery pack. Doubt it.

The taycan and tesla have similar interior style. This car also has screens everywhere as a focal point just like Tesla pioneered it 10 years ago. The only difference I see is the materials are better on a Porsche, but the UI and software are much better in the Tesla. You still have to deal with lots of screens instead of one main screen in a Tesla.

@@thedumbconspirator4956 The Taycan has an instrument cluster. Buttons on the doors. A screen across the middle console and into the passenger area. Then another one going down low. Tesla is plain AF with 1 giant I Pad screen in the middle. Porsche uses significantly better quality leather. Tesla does not even use real leather bub. They are nothing "similar". That is the most ridiculous comment I have seen comparing the 2.

OK that is seriously fast around Laguna Seca. It just looks like the car put the power down so effectively.

Crazy fast. Though should point out that Laguna Seca has gotten significantly faster once they repaved it last year. Randy Pobst should rerun some of his old Motor Trend best laps to see how much it's improved, but rumors suggest it's at least a couple of seconds faster and maybe even 4.

Can someone walk me through how this car is somehow the second fastest road legal car to lap this track? It weighs 5,000 pounds, has less than 500 pounds of downforce, yet despite this it’s still comparably quick to super cars in the corners despite that being a horrible combination for cornering. What exactly am I missing here?

Congrats! What tires did you guys use & how much weight did you remove? What are the specs so I can beat the record? Thanks!

I would like to see a much more aggressive Turbo GT RS version aimed at the track with more power around 1200 hp and 1500 Nm of torque. Focused on reducing weight with active aerodynamics at the front, rear and under the car using the floor and diffuser to generate more downforce.

Seems like they are sandbagging, that is, they could do a much faster lap. Just saying that because many of the mid-corner speeds are relatively low. Probably capable of 1:26.xx at least, maybe even 1:25.xx.

When comparing to other cars, the speeds are abnormally high. The cornering speeds are comparable to a Porsche gt3 despite weighing almost twice as much and having less downforce, however given those facts I highly doubt it would be able to go any faster through the corners. Plus did you hear those tires? That was definitely the limit of grip there

@@Yargk yeah but I would expect a gt4 to be quicker in the corners for plenty of reasons, weighs less, more downforce, etc. the fact that the Taycan is even comparable to the gt4 is insane on its own 😭 still I don’t really think there’s too much time left, the driver really pushed this car well on that lap

it actually took Porsche 2 days to shoot this clip. they had to reshoot it 37 times because the first 36 laps, the driver cannot help making engine noises as he was driving. Porsche engineers finally taped his mouth shut.

just 0.2s off McLaren Senna lap record,, just WOW (*but i bet the SENNA could do even better than that) 😱😱 even faster than "normal" GT2 RS on this racetrack,, 😅 *yeah the PLAID (Dark Helmet) faster, it clocked (1s faster) time at 1:26,75,, but it wasn't a stock production Car,, it modifed with (super) Big Wing (*even bigger than GT3 racecar wings) and with slick tires of course

It's not always about speed but the driving experience. The roar and mechanical symphony of 100's of pieces working in perfect unison is just magical. Despite being amazingly quick, the Taycan leaves something to be desired and I've driven the Audi equivalent numerous times.

I’m aware the Taycan currently suffers from lack of appeal and heavy depreciation. However, respect to Porsche for not giving up against the Plaid.

@@swecreations According to multiple online sources, the depreciation curve is worse for the Taycan compared to the Panamera. It’s also worse compared to a similarly priced 911. Lastly, I don’t think many people are surprised that various luxury vehicles depreciate hard. It’s common knowledge with the 7series, A8, and S-Class.
